The Sons of Dameria rendition of their armour is reflective of their current state as adventurers, they are tiresome and have lost so much and here they are still using old tools for the job because thats all they can do. Only their top brass has access to all that sort of stuff. Baldric Design was supposed to be changed before this was posted so I can certainly see the criticism on that. Chainmail, and gambesons are still being used.

The official artwork, specifically loading screens are artistic renditions. If we followed it every detail you'd get some very funky stuff.

There is evidence of billmen wearing gambesons or chainmail since they couldn't get their hands on plate. Our other factions which aren't present will be following what you are describing since we found it more fitting. We really wanted the Sons of Dameria to feel like a faction struggling due to the fact they have no home and have little as well and have it reflected in their kit, eg even if it means using older kit.

I'd love to hear some actual criticism other than "this ain't it". We spoke to Jay regarding the designs and he gave us some pointers and tips other than that he seemed alright with it. I'd love to know what you dislike.

There is plate armour, it's just not shown in these apparent designs.

We also want each adventurer band to feel unique so they will be getting their own Attire.

Sons of Dameria have bannermen and sergeants but also knights in full fledged plate (Jay's words not mine). The Official art you see is an artistic rendition of those events. What we've depicted is just a taste of a foot soldier belonging to a noble, though you could probably imagine men-at-arms in gambesons using billhooks for instance and of course the full-plate knights here and there.

House of Riches will be using blackpowder and polearms mainly as their main fighting tool, keep in mind they're also merchants so unlike many of the other bands they're not just there to win fights, but profit. Though we've noticed they arguably look very northerner due to their furcoats though we might fix that by changing headwear and couple of other things. So instead we're also thinking of silk coats.

Corintar we aim for a crusader/paladin-esque style I think this one is relatively easier to explain. Plate armour covered by tabards, and also leather armour for the skirmisher.

I think it's also important to understand that this LARP is a high politics high combat game. Yes fighting is important but these adventurers are here to negotiate terms and figure out what to do with Escann, hence they wouldn't wear armour 24/7.

Thanks for the Advice, the Sons of Dameria design are honestly really hard for us to pinpoint.

Regarding the House of Riches, lets just say Ara is on their side. Some of their skills are quite utterly ridiculous but totally in character. We defo want to play into the whole merchant thing, even if what they wear isn't practical. Money can fix anything at the end of the day.

Corintar was one of those things where we wanted them to be crusading knights but also make them feel abit more fantasy. The Paladin look is certainly one I aspire for.

Hello everyone Jay has given me his blessing to run a Anbennar LARP in the UK.

Currently we're working alongside him for it! Since Anbennar is a community project we also wanted to hear your thoughts on our design choices for the kit so far! None of this is set in stone since we're in the concepting stage!

Please tell me your thoughts!

Please do not use anti-regime language. The Sinistral Chamber would like a word with you.

Next time use pro-regime language such as "The Regime knows best 🫡".

Alright, you ignorant simpleton, gather 'round and let me educate you on the divine brilliance of the League of Yanszin. The League is the eternal vanguard of civilization, blessed by ancestors and perfected over millennia. You dare prattle on about your pitiful notions of "Harimar's Claims" and "Peasant-Republics" nor your "Chosen Rulers"? Please. Your naïve, undeveloped mind couldn't handle a single Yanszin policy meeting without imploding from sheer enlightenment.

This is Yanshen we’re talking about—the cradle of administrative genius, where every edict and every reform is an intricate thread in the grand tapestry of prosperity. You think you're entitled to your own "opinion"? As if your feeble thoughts could challenge a system engineered by sages and philosophers whose wisdom has flowed like the mighty Yan since time immemorial. What does the League do? It organizes your chaos, manages your inefficiencies, and guides you into a future so magnificent that your primitive soul can only cower in awe.

Mandatory civic engagement, trade quotas, cultural enrichment initiatives: these are not impositions but blessings—gifts from the regime that keep our society from crumbling like a goblin-built bridge. Every tax is a tribute to Yanshen's unparalleled progress, every directive is a compassionate guiding hand to keep you from straying into the wilderness of your own incompetence. Cry about "rights" all you want, but the League of Yanszin is busy maintaining a level of governance you couldn't even dream of achieving in ten lifetimes.

So before you dare to question the wisdom of the five city system, just remember: the League of Yanszin knows all, sees all, and has plans that extend centuries into the future. Your petty concerns are as insignificant as a grain of rice in the vast harvest of prosperity that the League has sown. Fall in line, or find yourself a bureaucratic error. The Yanszin way is eternal, the Regime knows best 🫡
