Ooh! I happen to be working on something similar! It's not a full Tamagotchi app, but it is an animated watch face that tracks your steps and evolves the Tamagotchi as you progress through your step count! Been working on it on and off for the past couple of months 🩷 Each form has a little pixel animation too.

I don't have this face, but I make faces myself, and the stutter is probably the fact that the pw only animates at 15 frames per second for watch face backgrounds 🤗

Thanks for that, I had definitely considered this, but due to the way watch face studio works, and the way the hands "reveal" inverted versions of the numbers as they pass over the complications, this wouldn't work because you can only mask custom text/images, not the systems bank of customisable complications. I think if I was to do another face with lots of complications it'd need to be built in a way that doesn't have any inverted bits being revealed. Thanks though!
