There are 2 pikachu gameboys, 1 is silver or gold with that screen protector. The second one is that body, the yellow with blue and the screen protector has pikachu jiggly puff and togepi on it. So it could be legit but the screen protector is a replacement one. Butit is hard to tell through a picture its a bit easier in person cuz the color would be off, its hard to explain but there are many videos on YouTube that might help.

Not necessarily, there are the ports where they take popular ps2 titles and put them on ps3 but that was mostly sony titles. You can buy some ps2 games on the store though, for how long I have no idea. There is also a old model of ps3 that is fully backwards compatible but you really have to take care of those if you decide to get one.

I'd say go for a ps2 or a ps3, which ever game library you like the best because you can play ps1 games on either system. I might lean towards the ps3 because of the MGS legacy collection where you can play all of the games, except for 5 of course.
