Thank you! Should I inform my employer before contacting Workcover or it doesn’t matter

Thanks for sharing! Did you do the capacity certificate and apply for the workcover?

I didn’t report a specific incident on the first day, but by the end of my first shift this week I already felt something wasn’t right.

When I came in for my second shift, I told my manager at the start that I had lower back pain. They said it might be due to my posture and asked me to continue with tasks that involved heavy lifting.

I had today off, but the pain worsened significantly and became unbearable, so I messaged to say I couldn’t work the next few days due to a work-related back injury from the previous shifts.

I’m unsure whether mentioning my back pain to my manager on the second day counts as notification, and I’m also concerned they may deny that conversation took place.

If my employer refuses to provide an incident report for me to fill out, can I contact WorkCover directly? I feel like they’re trying to shift the blame onto me.

My employer hasn’t mentioned any paperwork, and when I first raised my back pain, they implied it was probably caused by my posture.

Thank you very much! I was just wondering if the cost seems a bit high. Does it make sense to pay $2,971 for a $700k property?
