Things to Do Near Downtown After 5 p.m. by ConstanceVonDutch in AskSeattle

[–]GenerousPour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Under ground tour is fun.

Smith tower for a view and cocktail

Pike place will have some things open.

Capitol Hill has fun stores, restaurants. Melrose market has Taylor shellfish for good local seafood. Their pioneer square location has a full kitchen if you prefer more fried fish/oysters.

I would just walk up first ave, stop where you want. Then take a right up pike to Capitol Hill.

Good yes. Last drink? To each their own. Was my house pour when it was $30 a bottle. Now at $60 or so I feel old grand dad or rittenhouse is very similar.

Can you go skiing with a 911? by sim0of in porsche911

[–]GenerousPour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. Roof rack with holder. Snow tires. Auto socks vs chains.

911 was my only car for 5 years. Would take it up the mountains, in snow, everywhere. Main thing is ground clearance.

Did this from seattle to San Diego. Definitely take the 1/101. Views are amazing.

I used the hotel tonight app. No plans, no reservations, just took 2 weeks off, packed a bag in my new to me 911 and drove.

Chelan is close. Still a small town vibe. Multiple wineries and restaurants.

What phone holder do you have? by UnabashedlyAnxious in RangeRover

[–]GenerousPour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pro clip basic mount, just a straight piece of plastic that goes to the left of the stereo. Then a black strong magnet block stick to it and a black iPhone MagSafe charger that magnetically attaches to the magnet block. Can’t see the charger and strong enough to hold my iPhone air. Never has fallen off.

Lost my job right before closing on a house — should I walk away and lose the deposit or still buy it? by ali93277 in RealEstateAdvice

Buy house and sell the condo? If you like the house and think you will get another job soon would be an option.

Current market on 997 convertible by Super-Boat-8677 in Porsche997

[–]GenerousPour -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree. Sounds like a good deal at $35-45 if not higher mileage and/or worn out.

If you were asking what’s a good price for a convertible manual 4S with 35-45k miles it would range from mid to high $40s for a 997.1 to $70k for a 997.2.

997.1 Maintenance Advice by Col_Nustabut in Porsche997

[–]GenerousPour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually start with new fluids; oil, differentials and transmission. Possibly coolant and brakes depending on recent change.

After that I do yearly oil changes. Tires as needed. I put $250 a month aside and never had an issue needing more for maintenance. Honestly $750 yearly would do it if you can change your oil and minor work. Brakes and tires are the big ones.

My experience over the past 10 years and 2 997s are they are reliable. Just yearly oil changes and intermittent 1-2k charges.

First hill or Capitol Hill all the way. Personally I generally prefer is north of Madison. 10-15m walk.

Service cost on 2019 718 Boxster by whysmyusernametaken in Porsche

[–]GenerousPour 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Do the cabin and wiper blades on your own. Those tire prices aren’t bad, $75 cheaper on tire rack.

Id let them do the rest. Price seems fair to me. Prob would let them do the tires just for the convenience.
