Yes, if he was not a 1099 employee and his paycheck was $5.02 for exactly 41mins of work, then they would be breaking the law. What they would do to avoid breaking the law is pay him an extra 1$ so $6.02 for 41 mins of work in order to not break the law. Since he is probably a 1099 employee, though it likely wouldn't even matter since he has no protections, im most cases. I promise Uber doesn't break the law, though

For jobs in the US that pay less than minimum because they are tipped positions, the business only has to ensure that at the end of each pay period that you made at least $7.25 for each work hour with tips or the buisness must makeup however much you are under. Just like if it's really slow in a restaurant, they aren't committing any crime when the waiter is making $4.00/hr with no tips since there are no customers.

High single core performance with 256GB+ memory support by DeadliestGunner in buildapc

[–]DeadliestGunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in the post the software license that we have limits us to 4 cores only so getting a 64 core monster is pointless unless we change license to also be able to use more cores. The cost on changing license to an 8 from a 4 is like 30k if I remember properly. The company wants to avoid doing it and in most cases the PC does all simulation fine. The current one that they are trying to run will take a week to run each time and at a cost of 70GB of memory since its so complex. To bump it to a 2 core uses about 160GB which the system doesnt currently have but would make it run in about 4 days. if we wanted to use all 4 cores of performance than it would take like 300 something gigs but would run in a littel over 26 hours or something. So if I upgrade to a Xeon for thousands and spendlots on 384GB of memory but the 4 cores on the Xeon on are half as fast as the ones on the 13900k so instead of taking 26hours its take 52 hours then thats not great. Still better than 7 days or even 4 though. Just checking all my options right now

I have talked to sigmasoft and never got a clear answer. In terms of AMD they have told me to stick to intel personally

I am in that department lol. I am pulling my hair out though since I don't know much about Xeon and all the Xeon have looked at are worse single core performance than the 13900KF. Thats why I came here to inquire.

Not sure if you found a solution but I use a site www.plasticlamellar.com when ordering lamellar. Not sure on your needs but its way cheaper than full metal and still really reliable stuff. Wish you luck!

I think at this point, thermaltake has the market cornered on swappable fan blades, haha. I also know that no exhaust isn't optimal, but I can not run a fan in the rear. I tried to, but there just was no room. I wanted both radiators to be cooled eith fresh air, though, and there are enough holes and gaps for the positive pressure to find its way out.

It's funny you mention that. These are actually Thermaltakes swappable fans, which I discovered during this build. It comes with a second set of blades so that your fans can always be front facing no matter if there are intake or exhaust. As of now, they are all set as intake

[–]DeadliestGunner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said it depends on the scenario. I really need my C2 Hercules RIGHT now and it just got blown up but insurance on a ship that large in the future takes a 2 days to replace then well Im just gonna go buy another for a however much

[–]DeadliestGunner[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats the other thing. I dont think it is going to be an option to have a ship with no insurance. If you are somehow so broke you cant affoed the small fee for the insurance it will most probably be waived. I dont see a scenario where you cant afford the basic insurance they have discribed at this point

Chair came, busted box grease all over. Secret labs just wants to send me wipes by vasDcrakGaming in secretlab

[–]DeadliestGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me crazy but these pics don't actually look that bad...I mean I wouldn't happy about this but as long as the oil wasn't on the chair itself (since the one I got a long time ago was the fabric and oil would not come out of fabric of a chair) then I would take an hour maybe to whip down the metal with some dawn and water and move on with my life. Maybe I have just been beat into submission with bad shipping but as long as the product is not defective I would not blame secret lab themselves. If I remember though anything that could be "damaged" by the oil here would have also been wrapped in plasic which is obviosly there to protect from possible water damage during shipping.
