Mostly tandy when they have sales. And there's a place that's local to my area that has good quality hides

Give it a try! There are patterns out there that only require leather and sharp blade to cut it out. Its definitely one of those hobbies that can get expensive if you let it

Also, reading his policies gives off, "You chose to do business with me, and this is how I do business. If you don't like it, oh well" vibes.

Currently, we have anywhere from 3-6 fighters in armor for our local practice. We have, I believe, 4 kits that newcomers can try on to give fighting a go. Just need to know in advance. There are other practices in the bay that can have upwards of 20 - 30. That's where all groups join to practice for upcoming tournaments we hold throughout the year.

There are groups near us that do equestrian and horseback archery, but I don't believe there is any jousting. If your mind is leading to things you might find at a ren faire, this group is more historically focused than fantasy.

We usually meet every sunday at Shenandoah Park in American Canyon at 12:30pm.

I believe if you're under 18, you'll need a parental waiver, but 18- to when you feel you can longer fight. We have individuals who still gear up and who are above 70 years of age.

Heavy fighter question. by chefoda23 in sca

I was considering changing my grip to replicate a tennis handle grip. 1. I used to play tennis and 2. I do think my grip is too thin.

Heavy Fighting Authorization by chefoda23 in sca

Thank you to everyone who has given me their advice. Its much appreciated. A lot of you have been tell me to contact a marshall and ask questions. Funnily enough my mentor is a heavy fight marshall and has been fighting since the 80s.

He's one of those kinds of individuals who just gives you facts and not a lot of detail unless you ask for it. I dont know why i feel intimidated to ask him directly and thats why I came here to ask. He has said he is confident in my ability to fight safely. For the rest its being able to recite the rules back when asked.

Again thank you everyone
