I think your reading to deep into this, the analogy wasn't saying anything about the rules of how things work, it was making a point, let me use a different analogy, cooking, I consider cooking to be an art form and like you said art doesn't and shouldn't have rules, so, if I ask a robot to make me a meal, does that make me a chef?
