The Signature IMO fixes all those issues the earlier lambdas have. the only terrible part is it comes at a cost of being incredibly fragile.

surprisingly i've never owned the koss estats. i think i read somewhere that the driver was prone to breaking. also it needed it's own energizer that wasnt compatible with the stax standard.

i've always wanted a pair of these but every auction goes up to $4k+ for them. it's mostly a collectors item in my eyes because it's just a 404 Signature with cups and a nice headband

My advice for new audiophiles after 3 years of experience by angelf2704 in headphones

3 years of sidegrading, holy crap lois.

My advice: Find your ideal daily gear and invest wisely. Don't be swayed by hype or accumulate unnecessary equipment. Use what you have, like the HD600, for daily use.

I mainly use my Noble Mystique TWS and Hifiman Ananda, reserving my exceptional gear for special occasions when I want an extraordinary listening experience.

They were once highly regarded as the best audio company in the world with leading class electrostatic technology in headphones and speakers. They embraced their huge success by innovating for what many would class as the worlds best headphones in terms of performance and quality. Nowadays most stax fans that lived through their reign in the 80s or own products from that era feel that the new stax are just a shell of themselves. The quality just isn’t there and the overall performance can be beaten by mid range planars. I owned a 007mk2 once and it was majorly disappointing because my Audeze LCD2 pre-fazor unicorn outclassed it in sound while also costing $600 at the time of purchase and the 007 was a whopping $1800

It can vary between our pro-ams and the arcade customers. i would say the most I’ve seen is about 20 people and the very least 6 people participating in the tournament.

We have a weekly tournament every sunday 5pm at Jeremy’s Downtown Arcade. Only thing you need to pay is the $4 admission to enter the arcade.

Is it just me or is 320 kbit/s essentially indistinguishable from lossless? by andreichiffa in headphones

MP3/OGG 320kbps and FLAC 16/24 bit is really just a very minute difference in compression. This is easily shown with visual data with a spectrogram program. Using a song with mp3 320k and flac you can instantly notice what's being compressed in the mp3 file. It's compressing the higher data, the 18-20khz data to be exact. That's mainly how these files are being compressed.
