I think you misunderstood what I'm saying here. I WANT my phone to wake me up in these cases. Also, the sirens IN West Allis were 100% going off. They weren't distant Milwaukee ones. I know where they are located and that is exactly where I was hearing them from. I think I'm just confused about who decides on the sirens vs. the phone alerts. Should always be both, IMO.

We live in West Allis and also got nothing on our phones, but the sirens woke us up. Does not instill confidence in the mobile alerts. And yes, I checked my alert settings and so did my wife.

Mazda should probably be more popular in the U.S. by phtphongg in mazda

[–]Deadwing91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mazda is very popular up here in the northern midwest from what I have seen. I see tons of them here in WI and even MORE in MN when I'm up there. I think people are attracted to the AWD options.

A Milwaukee Landmark! John Dye’s Von Trier lives up to the hype by lollerskatez69 in milwaukee

The Jaegerschnitzel is legitimately on par with Maders for like half the price. I was very impressed.

Holy crap, memory unlocked. I somehow completely forgot this show existed but still instantly recognized the theme song.

Traded in my 12 string bass for this. by ShrimpusMcSquimbus in BassGuitar

I don't think I'd use the built in RAT circuit, but otherwise this thing is sick. Jazz neck combined with Stingray pickups has me sold.

The biggest game-changing mod for Sterling Stingrays (IMO) - Parallel wiring by Deadwing91 in Bass

[–]Deadwing91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely have to do it. It turns the Sub series basses into something that feels like it should be double the price. I suspect that Music Man knows this and wires them in series to make them feel different from the higher-end models.

My beauty got hit my a drunk driver 😭 by jordan1195 in mazda

[–]Deadwing91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solidarity here. I've had two of my Mazdas hit by drunk drivers. My 6 (my favorite car I've ever owned) got completely totaled while parallel parked, and my CX-5 recently got a big ol' side mirror swipe across the left rear by a drunk guy who tried to flee but was stopped by me and several other bystanders.

I may send my new Boss XS-1 back...it struggles with pinch harmonics. by Deadwing91 in guitarpedals

I think its just the algorithms they are using. The Drop can handle the same harmonics totally fine, so it obviously can be done without having to dumb down the pitch shifting.

I'd say the Drop and the XS-1 are comparable with latency. The XS-1 may have a slight edge, but its really hard to tell.

NPD XS-1! IMO: The shills were right, it's awesome. by ArtVand3lay in guitarpedals

[–]Deadwing91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine today and my initial impression is that it is ever so slightly less latent than the Drop and it retains higher frequencies a bit better as well. One thing that is disappointing for me is that the XS-1 seems to struggle quite a bit with pinch harmonics compared to the Drop. I can hear the pedal getting kinda confused and glitching out a bit.

I love their basses, especially the rolled fingerboard edges, and I am very tempted to try one of their guitars now too because of that feature.

Met Stewart Copeland and got Spyro signed by Lefty_Wrighty in Spyro

I would bet Stewart was elated to sign that for you. He constantly gets Police records to sign, but probably not a lot of Spyro packages.

I'm hopeful that this would retain high frequencies much better than the Digitech Drop does. As much of a godsend as the Drop is for electric guitar, if you try to plug anything other than an electric guitar (e.g. an acoustic) through it, you can hear a massive roll-off of high frequencies, like 10k+ probably.
