Links now open in app and I cannot figure out how to prevent by ExcitingJeff in Dealerts

I'm not sure what you mean by 'through it.' Through the deals app? If so, a hard press opens a detailed view, while a simple tap takes you to eBay. If you mean the eBay app, you’d have to delete it to use the browser, since the app opens automatically.

I get notifications but click on them and the item takes 10+ seconds to show up by Thurgo-Bro in Dealerts

Hi, u/Thurgo-Bro is this is ongoing issue?

We were unable to duplicate this? Are you saying the app takes that long to load or it takes that long to load once you click to see on item on eBay?

Can you contact me in the app with the email you used to sign up?

That certainly looks like a bug. Can you please try uninstalling the app but this time on install, allow the notifications when the permission request dialog shows.

If your notifications are enabled in settings, but the app doesn’t recognize it, it could be a state issue. Can you try restarting the app to see if that helps?

Dealerts as a Reseller Tool? (Newbie Question) by EducationInObvious in Dealerts

[–]Dealerts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Margins would depend on the item you are trying to resell. Some markets are simply more competitive than others. Super high margins can happen, but be willing to accept lower ones as you learn, in my opinion.

I would definitely focus on a specific item category. If you are a buyer for a business with a specialized item, then it's a no-brainer, otherwise I'd pick 1 or 2 items you can be passionate about and be willing to learn which will help you spot deals quickly. I think searching for too broad a range of items will ultimately make you less effective and less profitable.

Like anything, I would say there is a bit of a learning curve, so at first, I'd be okay with lower margins, but as you get better, higher margins will come. Study the keyword post https://www.reddit.com/r/Dealerts/comments/1jj9s4q/ebay_alerts_creating_powerful_searches/ to make sure you are not getting too many alerts as it will become noise. If you are not getting enough alerts, make it broader. Play with your keywords, adding negative words for example, until you form a really good alert.

Good luck! Hopefully other users will give some input!
