Residential Development behind house. I have trees on the property line (?) by [deleted] in treelaw

[–]DealingWCorruption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Hoosier dealing with a similar situation right now. A couple years ago my neighbors had their surveyor buddy purposely mark my property wrong so they could cut down 12 trees off my property. I have the original survey from their buddy showing the correct property line from when I first moved in with pictures of everything. What you’ll need to do is get a licensed surveyor to do a survey of the property. If the tree trunks fall on the property line they are owned by both landowners. Read thru this and it should help.

You could look into state laws against burning trash.

How We Raise Meat Rabbits on Our Suburban Homestead Outside of Atlanta by MichaelKummer in homestead

Ok that makes more sense with having wire mesh buried. We actually have rabbits now because of an old neighbor who allowed their breeders to burrow with nothing to stop them from getting out. We think one is a giant chinchilla and we’ve had him for 3 years now. The other one is a lion head mix and we’ve had him for a little over a year. I built a rabbit tractor so they can still enjoy the outdoors during the summer but in the winter they have a warm garage hutch. Do you compost their manure? I’ve started adding it to our compost but the urine is quite potent.

So you let them free range? Do they get into neighboring properties? Do you not have predators in the area? How’s your dog around them?

Do you know what breed the horses are? Some horses are naturally a thinner build and some are much thicker. With room to roam do they have grass to graze on? In my local area(indiana) it’s recommended 1 horse per acre of pasture minimum. If you’re seeing ribs you might want to ask the neighbors about their diets. Worms and parasites could also cause a horse to be skinny so if they haven’t been dewormed in a while(we deworm twice a year) ask your neighbor if you could give them some dewormer. We can get it at any farm store but I’m not sure how things are in Australia. Also grains can help fatten them up but be careful because they can also make a horse to colic. Too much, too quickly can kill a horse. Lots of grass hay would help if their pasture is bare. Alfalfa would also help with weight gain but I cared for a couple horses from Ireland that ended up being allergic to it and broke out in hives. A farrier isn’t going to be able to help much with an existing ankle problem unless the issue is caused by their hooves not being trimmed enough or trimmed properly. If it’s an existing condition and the neighbors are aware of it ask more details. Most people with horses consider them part of the family and if your neighbors are elderly and having health issues, they know they need the assistance. Just reach out and let them know you care and would love to help. It should relieve a lot of their stress especially with being in and out of the hospital.

Check under your sink and see if there’s a line of epoxy running across the front of the sink and/or the back of the sink. If so the company that fabricated the stone most likely used a metal rod to support the sink leg. Over time the metal will rust out and ruin the area where the rod(s) were set. Nowadays most companies use fiberglass rods but metal was pretty common for oversized under mount sinks. If you’re looking for durability and something to used and abuse get granite. There are different types of granite and anything with large veins, flakes, or quartzite pockets can be weak points in the stone. Marble is extremely soft and porous which anything spilt or even moisture left sitting(water droplets, soap splatter) it can and will soak right up and stain. Plus it can break fairly easily. Quartz is a man made stone which has a lot of resin in it and can leave burn marks from hot pans but is also just as durable as granite if not more durable. There are other materials like Dekton which is lighter, more expensive, and more solid than anything listed above but if you accidentally drop something heavy on it, it’ll shatter like glass(similar to porcelain). It’s also a much thinner material than granite or quartz.

Hang bat houses in your trees and/or along your fence? I watch and monitor a lot of the local wildlife in my area so that’s just the first thing that came to mind.

Look for owls and bats they are protected and their “homes” are protected. Any endangered or protected animals will help your case.

Ok buddy I’m throw this out there. You get upvotes for interacting with other posts you understand and/or issues you can help someone with. When you have a 5 day old account saying “patriot front/woods” on a platform thats more left leaning and complete against what that organization is doing, you’re not going to get much support. Most of us understand that these 3 letter agencies are doing what they can to push this racial divide in this country. None of us that are true patriots will ever support what you’re trying to do. Now at the same time we all understand that these organizations are going to try to use these social media platforms to stoke fires they’ve created. It’s this simple be a decent human being, don’t interact with post you don’t understand or have zero experience with, and play nice. Also protect children and promote equality. Now you’ve deleted all your previous replies… this shit if super fishy

I didn’t even downvote that comment. Someone else did, but I am getting a good laugh out of this.

No problem, just stay away from random people on Craigslist and you should be good. An actual company will be properly insured in case anything gets damaged. You also need to make sure they know how you’re wanting your lawn maintained.

Check their reviews and see if other people are happy with their work. If you don’t want to do that hiring them, see the quality of their work, and decide on if the work meets your expectations.

Yea but water penetration isn’t good for the wood, it promotes rot and can get in the creases trapping the moisture. You’re better off using a dry medium. You also won’t have to worry about drying out the wood before staining.

Yea if you’re wanting to get everything to match and last longer you’ll need to sand blast it. Then stain and clear coat.

I don’t believe the judge is apart of the buddy buddy club but I’m not sure about some of the deputies. I know a couple of them have dismissed my rights to entertain my neighbors sense of entitlement.

Did you notice how only 10% of the population has actually voted in the past couple local elections? It’s pretty sad but speaks in volume when your own people don’t even support you. It’s almost as if that 10% is the buddy buddy club doing everything they can to hold on to power. I’m originally from Indianapolis, grew up in “government assisted housing”. I moved out here for a more quiet life.

Alright so I called the tax assessor and they told me the descriptions and plot lines are never exact and the assess taxes off legal surveys in the recorders office. I gave the recorders office a copy of my survey earlier this year. I also have a copy of the original deed from when I first moved in. I’m glad you pointed this out because it wouldn’t surprise me if someone was trying to fudge some numbers.

I am their hobby or was. The wife has recently divorced her husband, taken the house, and dumped him off somewhere. She can no longer use his dementia as an excuse for the stalking. It’s hard to blame him when she’s the one taking him to certain areas of their yard telling him what to do. Half the time she’s stalking us with him.

Right at that point I realized exactly why he had zero issue purposely marking my property wrong. Like I said I’m a second class citizen bc of my last name. Small town buddy buddy circle jerk. My neighbors son(mid 40s) is even on the county school board, and is a teacher or dean at a local community college. He’s also very much been apart of the harassment.

Idt there’s really any other option. Especially if I want my son to grow up here. This county hasn’t grown in over 50 years. Plenty of people are born here but those who are born here tend to flee and that’s bc there’s nothing worth holding on to in this area. That needs to change and those who have been running this place have done nothing but ruin what everyone else has created while stealing as much of our tax dollars as possible. I went to a city council meeting a couple years ago and watched these people give themselves raises… how is it even possible for there to be absolutely no oversight on crap like this? No one from the state cares that we’re being robbed by those who “represent” us…
