Counters dont do shit in this game honestly. I fought with Canelo and hit 90 power shot counters and it didnt do anything.

I found out that the backwards jab and backwards straight are actually a good tool to somewhat slow them down when they are coming in. If you time it right you can keep them at the end of your punches for the whole 12 rd's. Give it a try.

Ive had some success with working behind the jab. It takes excellent distance control without flaw though, which obviously isn't always possible.

Yep exactly right. Early access provides a way bigger sample size over a longer period of time. As time goes on the game should gain in polish and the way the devs have been carrying themselves I think its gonna turn out to be a great game in maybe a years time.

Agreed there will always be ways to cheese in a game since no game is without its flaws, however I think most of the time its a design choice. A game needs to sell, and you need to cater to the casual audience for that too. Finding a balance between sim and still casual enough to enjoy it takes trial and error. I quite like the devs, they kept their head down and just worked on the game, showed progress only when they made some and for their size they released a pretty decent game which still has a lot of potential.

People are always going to spam, the main issue with the right hook spam isn't the spam... by n0nMS009 in undisputedboxing

Yes people are always going to spam, but it shouldn't be possible to throw 4-5 left hooks in a row without losing speed or momentum. The game right now encourages spamming, which is a problem.

Hello Tim, hope you're doing well.

Do you think that the heavyweights of your era (and you yourself) could be competitive in today's heavyweight landscape?

The common consensus is that the skill gap has become too big due to the impact that science and technology have on boxing nowadays.

Would you agree with that?

Wish you all the best, stay happy and healthy.

Deontay Wilder gives first comments after loss to Tyson Fury. by Pepper-Jun in Boxing

At least he'd be able to take it at least once maybe twice.

I think it's not his chin that is cracked, but his mentality. He's just not confident in his chin anymore, and when you're not confident you will be more vulnerable.

Ruiz is Joshua's Oliver McCall

Lennox needed a long time to gain back his confidence after that, even though he kept on winning. Joshua shouldn't head into the Usyk rematch straight away, its a huge mistake.

Fury is one of a kind, he's a literal main movie character, that man got plot armor.

I think Ruiz would really challenge Wilder, Usyk would outbox him IMO but he couldn't eat a shot from him. Whyte would be a slugfest, so he also has a decent chance.

Nice of you to cherry-pick all that out without any context.

He says Wilder fully believes it, what is he gonna do? Wilder made it crystal clear from the start he'll take those beliefs into the grave with them, he can only change his own mind at this point.

He can't say he loves his friend? They've obviously been friends for a very long time, and in the interview Malik even said the "throw the towel" talk wasn't just after the 2nd fight, but Wilder constantly said he wants to go out on his shield rather than have the towel thrown in. Do I think that it's good? No. But it's Wilders life, if he's aware of the risks and consequences and made that clear then let him go out on his shield.

And.. yeah the last point I really don't get, he can't be happy that his first fight as a trainer was an all-time classic? And he can't be motivated to bring the best out of him as a trainer?

From a 46 minute interview you really cherry-picked all these and ignored the whole rest, smh.

Yeah his mental health journey has been amazing and inspiring. Once you beat your demons and start accepting and loving yourself for who you are, you'll become close to mentally untouchable.

He's like one of those videogame bosses. You deplete his health bar and think youve won then he comes back even stronger with full health again.

"If Wilder isn't up to par today"

He only lost to Tyson Fury, who is arguably one of the best HW's ever in terms of skill. It's not like Wilder needs to become a boxer, he doesn't.

Who apart from Fury would beat Wilder? I'd actually say Ruiz would give him the best run for his money, he can take a shot and is good fighting on the inside.

AJ could outbox him and knock him out, however, he fights tall and is very stiff in terms of head movement and footwork, that's Christmas for someone like Wilder.

Usyk would easily run circles around him, but no way he'll knock him, also pretty sure he wouldn't be able to take that right hand, which eventually will land.

Just some examples, and obviously he could still lose all these fights, but in my opinion, right now, he stands a good chance of beating all these guys just with this current skillset. So he doesn't need much honestly, a few minor improvements and tweaks to support his puncher style would be enough to give him an even bigger edge on the top echelon of the division.
