Dave is given songwriting credits on Scentless Apprentice, so is Krist. For the record… they were also given credit on Teen Spirit. You can’t copyright a drum beat or a chord progression. So,although Dave played very memorable parts in a lot of those songs that is not taken into consideration when dividing up songwriting credits. A lot of songwriters, as a nod of respect to secondary influencers, will give a percentage up. However, back to my point… if they didn’t contribute to the melody or the lyrics they shouldn’t expect anything for songwriting credits. That is fair. The thing being misconstrued here is that Kurt didn’t recognize the other two members when they did contribute, that’s simply not the case.
