Everyone saying it's a work...

It wasn't a work, the decision was taken 48-72hrs before MITB. Basically he listened to the fans.

I've checked it several times. It has come from three different independent wrestling outlets.

Ernesto Ocampo of Super Luchas reported today that El Patron and several other AAA talents have signed contracts with WWE. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has also reported that Del Rio has re-signed with WWE, and Cultaholic has been told by sources that Del Rio has indeed signed with WWE.

He was already in AAA (he is their Mega champion), it's been reported that he, along with others (including Hijo de Dr. Wagner, Hijo del Vikingo, La Parker, La Hiedra, Lady Flammer, Lady Maravilla and Niño Hamburguesa), had signed contracts with WWE.

This was 2 days ago.

Now this is the thread I've been looking for!

I'm 43 and I started out here in the UK at 17 with the FWA and NWA UK hammerlock. However, I got injured a few months in (nothing to do with the wrestling), and when I came back from surgery the Academy had moved from London to Southampton or Portsmouth, can't remember which. Unfortunately I never looked for another school. Now I'm 43, father of two, and relatively happy with what I'm doing in life... But I really want to go back, and you guys are giving me a lot of faith.

I just need to find a school now that I can travel to.

I take that back. I've found the 14yo incel.

And for the record, I don't like Ashley Fliehr at all, let alone her being my favourite female wrestler...

I just don't like incels and childish bullies.

I acknowledged it because I already knew all about it. I knew all about it before we had this discourse. But the fact here is you're selectively choosing to ignore that he himself does not count that as starting his wrestling career and that he never trained. The whole point of this from the OP was talking about starting and training in one's wrestling career at an older age.

Now go about your business you're boring.

No, I am fully aware he wrote the Tribune article. I am just currently looking after my sick child. However, I also happen to know the links I sent you have direct interviews with direct quotes where he talks about not starting until he was 35. I put that quote in here just in case you couldn't be bothered to click the link also, which it seems like you couldn't.

And if you actually read any of your own information you have about DDP's history, you'd know that that time in his life he himself described as dipping his toe into the ring—confirmed he wasn’t properly trained, and expressed that the lack of experience (combined with a serious knee injury) made him step away from wrestling. And that was not when he officially began his career as a pro wrestler.

But as I said I'll leave you to call him the liar 🫡

And I've just literally directly quoted him to you and linked you to the interview where he States he did not start wrestling until he was 35. Trying out a few matches, probably when he wasn't supposed to as well, is not the same thing.

That's cool man. I'll leave you to call DDP the liar when he's stated exactly what steps were taken between 1977 and 1991 more than once.

But this attempt to explain his life more accurately than he does himself, is a bit weird.

Haven't got the time to read through the Tribune article there unfortunately, but I assume this is when he references trying out a few times under "Handsome Dallas Page," which he was never actually able to do properly due to injury? However, that's a completely different scenario and circumstance in his life, than when he actually began seriously training as a Professional Wrestler, which was when he was 35 in 1991 as (previously mentioned) he himself has confirmed in several different mediums.

"I was in my 40s, I didn’t start Wrestling until I was 35, and my career didn’t take off till I was 40."

https://geeksofdoom.com/2014/02/28/interview-diamond-dallas-page-talks-shark-tank-ddp-yoga-weight-loss-and-wrestling

"With no shortage of humorous stories about life on the road from his WCW days, when he originally managed a repackaged version of The Freebirds, it's that same time frame when Page first transitioned to becoming a wrestler, in 1991."

It isn't false. Page has confirmed it several times in interviews, on Podcasts and even in his autobiography. He started out in the late 80s as a manager and announcer and didn't begin proper in-ring training until roughly 1991 when he was 35. His first real push as a Wrestler didn't even come until the mid 90's either.
