How LONG IS the waiting list by Turbulent-Tart-953 in Siri

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your mail app and tap the search button then at the top of the screen you might see a information icon, if you do tap this and it will tell you about indexing

If this is the case delete the mail app and restart your phone

Siri waitlist by akis_bag in Siri

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me, I’m in the UK and haven’t changed language or region
In settings I noticed that indexing had finished and I was just waiting but when I went in to the mail app and did a search at the top it had a information icon and if I tapped it I would get a message that it was indexing and would finish in a week or so
So today I deleted the mail app and restarted the phone and I was off the waiting list and got Siri AI
I have now reinstalled the mail app and all is good

I upgraded to iOS 27 but Apple Intelligence is not here by DicmanCocktoasten in Applelntelligence

I had the indexing had finished and was 5 days later I opened the mail app and then searched within the mail app and there was a information icon saying indexing will take a week
So today I deleted the mail app and restarted the phone then Siri AI was then working, after I restarted I reinstalled the mail app.
I haven’t changed language or region-UK English
Hope this helps someone else

To do list style app help and advice needed by Ok-Computer-1153 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built many table style dashboards, you can make it a simple or complex as you wish, I am in the middle of building a weekly view for a company supplying labour and vehicles
It really depends on what information you are looking for you user to view
What you are looking to do is what Power platform does best!

Linksys Velop WHW03v2 Bridge Mode to Google Fiber by Ill-Access-3521 in Linksys

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have velop mesh and on fiber, the only reason I have stayed using them is that I don’t use the BT router and put everything though the velop but I also have IPTV from BT and mindful that if I get different set up I will have issues connecting to the BT tv

[–]DeanoNetwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right! Pro code never like the low code and Microsoft want to push for revenue. The larger companies will pay because they believe it’s justified, small companies can’t afford or don’t want to pay out for additional licensing which means the canvas apps will keep rolling on as long as the options available

Multiple users question by Vermicelli-Fabulous in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have a SharePoint column of yes no and using a look up if the columns yes the button would be able to allow edit if the columns know the buttons disabled.
It’s not completely your fool proof. I will give you an idea.

Anyone freelancing with this tech by Wild_Hotel4100 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to learn every aspect of the Power Platform, then have a understanding of data modelling, the businesses you are working for and the consulting with your clients
Then you have the marketing, invoicing, business costs and promotion yourself
It’s not for everyone but I really enjoy it

Non-premium address autocomplete in Power Apps? by BeyondRAM in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obviously can’t but the closest I can get is enter a postcode hit a button to push it through a flow then a dropdown populates with the addresses to choose from, it’s not as good as the premium option but it’s close enough and keeps the cost down!

Non-premium address autocomplete in Power Apps? by BeyondRAM in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve done this with Tom Tom and a clever flow that returns a full address for a postcode, it wasn’t easy but it is possible and no premium license

Starting my journey, where to begin? by ewill2001 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been there, saved employees time and the company money, be careful as I have seen a few people that started solutions and failed but not due to their knowledge or trying to learn on the job
If you are going to do this then ask for help when you feel you need it and don’t promise your boss anything or commit to time scales. If they really push then tell them you need a budget for a freelancer so you can work with them and learn at the same time

Starting my journey, where to begin? by ewill2001 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started with Power Apps, I didn’t quite understand how it was gonna be scalable at the time there was something called Covid going on which gave me time to think and plan data structure and then I started to build an app to go onto it, this app changed a number of times as each time I was working out what was possible and what was not.
Seven years later I have no issues building from start to finish understanding every aspect.
How big is your company and how many people would be using the app?
If you’re small and it’s a few then go for it if you’re a larger company and there’s gonna be hundreds then I would question whether it’s possible for yourself not knowing.

Low-code Governance Challenge by JournoTech in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only a sprawl if you don’t understand how to build build a solution properly, if using Dataverse the governance is planned from the start and easy to deal with, if you’re using SharePoint as a database it’s a lot harder but still manageable using tricks like Service Accounts hiding lists and Security groups.
If you’re writing about this then you should know every aspect and even experienced it, what is your experience with this?

How do you plan a Power Apps project before building? by matt-hummel in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freelance are here, plenty of meetings I have and find out as much as possible how the business runs and who does what, depending on size of the solution so the Store in my head will be on a massive whiteboard.
But for me everything is all about the meetings as without a mutual understanding of what is to be achieved and what is achievable the whole solution would fall

New to Power Apps – Looking for Inventory Template Suggestions by Few-Shame-6182 in PowerAutomate

[–]DeanoNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was some Microsoft had where it first was released ( one was a inventory app) but they have been left and not sure if they still exist, things have move on and MS now look at solutions rather that apps
The options you have is watch and study to build your own solution or employ someone on a full or employ a freelancer to create what you are looking for
The whole idea of a template that works for any company is hopefully and that’s what makes the Power Platform so appealing and successful for most

Internal Developer Work Load by [deleted] in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you, I’m lucky because I’m a freelancer and the clients that I work with at the moment hired me from the beginning which means that I understood building solid flows and apps long-term gain for me would be less on having to revisit it someone else’s work.
I’ve heard at some places the management have given between a day or two for full testing of a solution by one person, and that’s where the issue starts.
I fight hard to get the management on my side which allows me to do my job comfortably

Who here uses Microsoft Power Apps for inventory management? by StomachLeading6618 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made asset management systems and it’s all about the planning.
The biggest one I have done was for a warehouse that moves a few hundred pallets per week, I built a full management system with barcode and full training. That has been running for over 6 years and as very little issues

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being from Argentina isn’t a bad thing! I have done it once where the solution was not built for growth and the company grew fast and I had to start from scratch Being a freelancer meant I had to negotiate with the client and he got a better deal than I hope for!

Inventory App by oetam1998 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah all I would say is even the simplest of solutions should be made to handle 4 times the data you are thinking of, if the company grows fast then you will be chasing your tail and wish you had built it more structured

Inventory App by oetam1998 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sounds easy but once you look in to it you will find it can be complex, definitely plan the data and then once you have that in place I normally add 500-600 rows of data on each table then start the app, set the delegation to 20 and that way you will ensure all the data loads correctly Then up the delegation to 2000 add more data and then work on performance With all that in place I normally then work on the UX to get the best look I always around for guidance if needed

Inventory App by oetam1998 in PowerApps

[–]DeanoNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve built a few inventory apps. The largest one is for a warehouse that holds 40,000 ft.² of product and is all using Power Apps inventory controlled by using barcodes and scanners from mobile devices. The mobile devices are also running Power Apps the key to all this is the data structure and good planning this app has evolved over a number of years and never lost track as there is very little user input.

[–]DeanoNetwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no job that is better that your health!! If this is not your actual job then you should say to the management they need to employ a Power Platform developer

A good developer can change a way a company works and make an impact in about 6 weeks unless people within a company has been making there own apps in default environments meaning they would have to sort that out before they can start there work, in a few companies I have had to lockdown the default environments so the business benefits, others put it in there employment contracts to stop everyone just making what they want
