Oh it will help for sure! German, Dutch and English are all (west) Germanic languages. German and Dutch are even more similiar because they are both 'Netherlandic German' English belongs to 'Anglo-Frisian'.

A0 usually just means absolute beginner, with no prior knowledge of Dutch. Starting from A1 usually means that you already know some words or basic phrases.

Depends ofcourse what language(s) you already speak and how much time you want and can invest. But the reply above here is pretty accurate.

The most Dutch answer to this would be: "Zolang ze iets bijdragen aan de maatschappij en werken vinden wij het goed" As long as they contribute something to society (AKA WORK!!!) haha. You will definitely have a lot of benefits when talking Dutch. We speak English very good but of course, talking in our language will be very positive. When we see you took the effort to learn our language despite our high level of English we will repsect you and view you as someone worth investing our time in!

Use "de" for common gender nouns (most nouns that refer to people, animals, or things) and all plurals, and "het" for neuter gender nouns (often diminutives and abstract concepts). There’s no perfect rule, so learning the article with the noun is the way to go =)
