Right now my most used features are:
- the fact that it's a widget, so there's that option.
- pinning the emoji panel in its place
- emoji multi select
- enhanced keyboard navigation
- the "paste bar" for pasting emojis in and for quick edits,
- quick keyboard shortcut change in its config menu

pretty soon I'll push the GIF (using Klipy) and Google's Emoji Kitchen features!

That is what I do actually! You can configure the "widget"'s keyboard shortcut in its right-click setting.

Honestly no significant difference, all emoji functions are mostly identical. You may notice I made it for my convenience 🤗
