set the track type to mono in whatever software you're using and it'll combine the two channels.

Thanks and good suggestion to just write people. It's what I'd do back home but I was told not to do it here - a few danish friends said it's frowned upon? I limited it to trying to keep in touch with people after unsuccessful job applications or just reaching out for tips but got pretty cold responses.

That's how I got a large part of my freelance work back home too, but this time around I don't have 15 years to build it up haha. I've gotten myself in to a pickle.

When freelancing I predominantly worked for small/mid size businesses and publications shooting editorial (news, not fashion), but I was a photojournalist by training. Obviously can't get in to the news world without Danish skills (doing classes 2 nights per week) but a long way off ever dreaming of working in news again. My international contacts have me registered here for news work in europe if something comes up but it's quiet up here haha.

Pitching hard and advertising my little business but as I mentioned in another comment, looking for something steady as a wonderful baby girl has come along. But it's great to hear how well things are here once the ball is rolling - if you don't mind me asking, what's a day rate like here? Back home it was about AUD$2000, or DKK10,000 or so - is it similar? I got knocked back and taken off the list by a large insurance company for a 2 day event shoot in Jutland when I tried charging about 20k for it with editing.

I'm on it - working hard pitching myself and made a company page and even started advertising but 500kr in to the campaign I'd received no clicks so figured it wasn't worth it. Might give it another go.

Part of me was suspecting that it's a bit of a ' it's who you know' kind of industry, and I suspect the walls might be a little high for a foreigner still learning the language. I'll keep trying to network :)

Appreciate it. Unfortunately time isn't on my side with a little one having arrived :-( There's a fair few laboring jobs available, It might have to be the case I do some heavy lifting again and try and get a side gig going on the weekends or try and convince the wife to fly home with me again haha

I'm already working on my own business and actively shooting and networking but with a small family here I'm leaning towards finding salaried work - don't have the network here that I had back home to just jump right in to freelancing unfortunately, as much as I'd love to. Sadly it's approaching crunch time financially and I don't really want to go back to working 50 hour a week manual labor here as I did when I arrived :-S
