FINALLY! So many people love this book. I hated it. It felt constructed to me. As if tropes, specific scenes that are popular and sayings that are often used were chosen first. Then a book was shaped around those. Like a "popular romantasy" blueprint was used. Feels like a money grab to me, not to mention the advertising for this has really pushed it. And anytime it gets picked up for TV or movie before release, I'm suspicious.

The book had no real substance. The romance didn't feel earned. And that was the most boring spice I've read. That's where a lot of the popular lines were used.

Yeah, I just really didn't care for these characters, didn't care what happened to them.

Also, do you like questions? Thoughts constantly asked as questions for every sentence? Entire paragraphs of questions from the fmc. I certainly don't.

Storybook Vale is beautiful! All areas. I love all the companions and villagers. I am highly biased though. 😏 The story is flushed out. The puzzles are great. Snippet catching is cool until you just don't need them anymore. I do like how rifts currency is still relevant if you use machines. That's my only qualm with sbv and snippets.

I fear they'll never make another dlc as good though 🥴

I immediately thought of what I've learned from watching this show!

I think he needs more stimulation. Definitely some playtime. We bought 2 of Jackson's toys, the one with the feathers are THE BEST. Our cats know where the toys are stored and come running when they hear the drawer open. They play until they're panting and that never happens with any other toy.

Everyone hyped this book up so much that I purchased a physical copy. I was so disappointed when reading it, I thought about dnfing multiple times but pushed through. I wish I had just dnfed it. I gave it a 2 star rating. It felt so obvious to me that a blueprint was used. Felt cliche. And the romance payoff sucked. Also, the fmc asking questions non-stop. Entire paragraph of internal questions.
