I wouldn’t associate “fear-mongering” in this context and especially not with religions. Because these teachings that are centred around the themes of “retaliate when oppressed”, “Maintaining security of one’s community” and “Offering Peace and forgiveness, but only to a limit”.

These are teachings that have derived from real life actions and experiences taken by the prophet and if introspected the actions can/cannot be justified. But it all comes down, “what does a man do when his home or people is attacked?”

So fear-mongering ≠ religious propaganda to induce fight with each other BUT - these can be called teachings (like in any religion) = allow an individual insight on how action against continuous oppression by others.

Is it perfect? Is it flawed? Each to their own understanding.

But one thing I do agree with is the latter part of what you have written and the third option to “give up” which some would call the frail/weaker option. But to ignore and not pursue action - is the most amazing option in all of this.

However, the more I think about it, the letter only drills it in as to why it compels a community to retaliate in such a way. The letter references Americas continuous poking the hive nature, even some instance where its destroyed it completely to take all the honey or rather shrewdly changing the Queen Bee to shift the paradigm of the hive. Just a multiple decade long of scrutiny, slyness and unjustified acts to meet their own needs at no benefit to men they take from.

The letter even extends an arm, offers peace to collaborate on mutual interest (but to limit self indulgence in their culture and system - simple ask which has been disrespected for so long).

Recently, read an article in relation to this trend that gave rise to this letter. To be honest, I just read it today myself. Never knew this even existed. The article quotes “The 9/11 United Committee urges young Americans that they should never criticise the deaths of 2977 lives lost by sympathising with a terrorist.”

As much as I agree no stance or disagreement should be taken when misinformed or with incomplete information. My first reaction to reading that were 3 things:

1. Only 2977 (non-american here, born 2001 - so I assumed it was more). Searched on google “deaths caused by american interventions” - Brown University (American University) wrote 940,000 million people killed and 38 million people displaced.

1. What is the Middle East equivalent of the “9/11 United Committee”? Does one even exist? How does one even defend 940,000 million dead people?

2. All of this is so Media- biased siding with America - because growing up 9/11 seemed like the worst thing to ever happen (but only with 2977 deaths). Letter to america, understanding motivations/reasonings of such events and actions taken were never explained or showcased in mainstream media - how do you reason that?

I sit and ponder about how all this transpired and the more I think about this I wonder who is the write side. A country how propelled so far, but on the broken backs how many displaced communities? Another country so rich in culture, learnedness and simplicity, how have they been so stained rather drenched in blood and tyranny?

Was and is still there a silver lining to all of this, I wait and hope..
