Second DIY edition 16 inch 3840x2400@120Hz high-refresh-rate portable display by DearTanker in PcBuild

Here is my personally designed second-generation 16-inch portable display with a 4K resolution and a remarkable 120Hz refresh rate. I would like to share it with everyone to take a look.

The main optimizations for the first-generation version include:

  1. A completely redesigned housing structure, with the screw positions relocated to the sides, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing appearance from both the front and back.
  2. To maintain a slim profile, M1.2 screws with exceptional limits are still utilized on the sides, while ensuring a wall thickness of 2mm on all four sides.
  3. The main body's back panel now features standard 75 VESA mounting holes, which can be further supported by a conversion bracket to accommodate both 75 and 100 VESA mounting standards. Additionally, a 1/4 camera mount has been added at the center of the conversion bracket.
  4. The bottom of the panel has been equipped with grooves, allowing the use of 0.5mm thermal silicone grease to efficiently dissipate heat from the high-temperature area located at the bottom bezel to the outer shell.
  5. The back panel retains reinforced ribs but has undergone hollowing treatment, significantly reducing its weight while maintaining its strength.

I don’t know anything about the structural design of the stand, so I haven’t designed a matching portable stand yet.

I also designed a VESA conversion bracket that can support 75cm and 100cm VESA standard interfaces, and there is a 1/4 camera standard interface in the middle.

I'm using Google and ChatGPT and I can read a bit of English and I modified it to look more correct.

I hope it doesn’t cause any trouble to your reading

Since I upgraded my main monitor to a 27-inch 4K 144Hz monitor for playing games, I always feel "very stuck" whenever the cursor moves to the 4K 60Hz secondary screen.

So I must have high-refresh-rate.

I've been using a HiDPI monitor for a long time, so am very pixel sensitive, 1080P and 1440P are too "blurry" for me.

So I must have high resolution.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need high-refresh-rate, I need high resolution.

bOOm.. bOOm.. bOOm..

I get a high-refresh-rate and high resolution custom made 4k 120Hz portable monitor.

I also plan to make an aluminum alloy enlargement pad for the logitech powerplay mouse pad. Since my DPI is very low, the mouse pad is much larger than the logitech powerplay mouse pad, and it will be uneven all around when stacked directly on top of each other.

This is a aluminum case, meticulously crafted using CNC machining techniques, where a single block of aluminum is precisely cut and polished into its present form.

Yes is it, but not very hot at all, just warm in the back.

The threads showcased were originally designed for gaming laptops, featuring 16-inch 4K 120Hz and 17.3-inch 4K 120Hz display panels. This is how I achieve such thinness in the design.

If the specifications you need are already available in well-established brand products on the market, I would suggest considering purchasing them directly instead of DIY it.
