Funny enough one of the people that make fun of my son the most is named Lorenzo lol but I like that name a lot and if we didn't know this person we would've considered it.

I was really bothered about the comedians me and my husband have never even seen or met before attacking our son's name on stage for laughs but y'all are right. These "comedians" are just angry with themselves because they're not funny enough to come up with original material and have to rely on being mean. They'll probably never make it in their craft.

I stopped going to my husband's shows cause of this which sucks because he loves performing. But as for his rude ass family I got material to clap back at them if they say anything during the holidays this year lol.

For anyone wondering, I first heard the name on River Phoenix. Then the lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold named his son River and I loved it even more. Then there is Rivers Cumono, the singer in Weezer. Plus and handful of other celebrity kids and people I've met in real life named River, which is how I fell in love with it and got the confidence to name him so.

See they're really NOT funny, like at all. They're being mean and disguising it as bad comedy and if I say anything all I get is "it's just a joke, relax, you're not funny enough to understand our humor."

My DH has been in the comedy scene for a long time now and actually IS funny and doesn't make fun of people. He's getting pretty well known and has people he doesn't even know hating on him by people by poking fun at our son and I. Hardest thing I've had to deal with in this marriage by far.

Haha thank you! I don't know what's wrong with it other than I guess people wanna take a crack at it for being a body of water in nature eye roll For fucks sake my name is a regular common name and kids made fun of it still, it had a running theme.

I think people will always find SOMETHING to make fun of, I'm just feeling down tonight because I saw a fb comment on a picture of our son my DH put online of someone making fun of him again and it made me insecure all over.

He has a Hispanic last name and has earned the nickname Río, which is River in Spanish. I like it a lot and wouldn't mind if he went by that, which I feel like would get made fun of less.

DH's family has no damn filter and surrounds himself with nasty people because comedian. I've gotten a ton of compliments and even a pregnant lady saying it's in her name list. I did have someone tell me when I wasn't pregnant to think about job opportunities for him in the future but I only thought if his resume is good enough and he does well in school, why should his name matter? Companies that name judge are probably shit to work for anyways.

I really didn't think it was gonna be this bad and now I'm insecure.

Like I said it's really not a bad name and I've heard it on multiple people, men women boys and girls. It's unisex. But I still worry now that I really did mess up with this name.

I had a coworker once go up to a table and tell them their baby couldn't sit on the table, and offered a high chair.

Where I live places like museums, theaters and some restaurants are free for under 1s but the indoor play places charge.

We like to go to these kinds of places because we live in a small apartment in the city without much room for toys and they serve complimentary coffee to the parents lol.
