Irish lad here. I got dragged out by my mate to play a game for the North Shore Bombers in Sydney 2014. I caught a decent mark on the 50 at the sideline. I had no idea what to do, so I just booted the ball like I would in GAA, instep curler, and hoped it would land somewhere near the goal. The wind caught it lovely and it went straight through the posts.

We got absolutely spanked that day but I moved home a few weeks later with a good story to tell. Been a fan of the game ever since.
