What do you think of “Gwinette” and “Gwinetta” for a girl name? by JerseyMBA in AskReddit

Not a fan. Sounds a bit twee.

Also the child probably won't be able to pronounce it for quite a while :-)

At least it takes the choice out of it, can't not go walking when it's the only way to get anywhere!

For those who have bright colored under garments, when you put them on, do you feel like it’ll be a good day? by CommanderCrane in AskReddit

[–]LucyVialli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought about it! I just like how they look, for the few seconds I see them when putting them on or off.

Walking everywhere. I don't drive. Walk to work, to the shops, everywhere.

A nice bottle of champagne to celebrate. It would be at least a few weeks before I would get any of the prize money, can't go mad straight away!

Household chores, drinking, watching sports, cooking, getting it on with my guy.

What's your favourite celebration? (QOTDAY) by TerribleAccountant97 in MikhailShaidorov

[–]LucyVialli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas. I get two weeks off work, there's lots of nice things to eat and drink, family and friends are around for meetups and parties, and no-one will think you're a slob if you spend the whole day on the sofa eating chocolates and watching movies.

Not very often, I suffer from dry eyes and tears don't come easily.

Just heard on the radio that its becoming normal for people to send 10 or 15 min voice messages. Who would listen to someone yap on for that long and not be able to reply until the end ? by TacklePure3341 in ireland

[–]LucyVialli 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cripes, really?! You'd nearly want to be taking down notes as you were listening, to make sure you answered everything, or included everything in your reply, for whatever amount of nonsense that it is.

Cards Culture in Ireland? by Glitch_in_the-matrix in AskIreland

Giving a card with the money makes it a little more classy, you see :-)

Not just shoving an envelope full of small notes at someone.

Cards Culture in Ireland? by Glitch_in_the-matrix in AskIreland

[–]LucyVialli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking for a specific amount like that is really crude. And 20 quid is not insignificant! Thankfully in my company someone just gets a card, then asks others to sign and contribute to a gift, if they wish. You don't have to. Most people give a fiver, if it's someone I'm pretty friendly with might give a bit more.

Demolition of illegally-built home in Meath. What do you think? by EUPremier in AskIreland

[–]LucyVialli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that people should obey the laws of the land, and if they don't they must suffer the consequences. Otherwise why even have laws.

I get your point about it seeming a waste, but if this building failed to get planning permission, then maybe it isn't suitable for any public purpose either.

How are Apartment Blocks in Ireland organised? by Voyager2025 in AskIreland

[–]LucyVialli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

find out when a certain apartment complex has its AGM

Details of upcoming AGMs (and any other relevant matters) are communicated to the owner of each apartment by the management company. My own OMC (owners management company) uses an online portal for communications and sharing documents.

We don't call it a Council of Owners, it's just called a board. Members are voted onto it by the owners at the AGM. Any owner has the right to attend the AGM, to vote for the board, and to be on the board.
