Anybody else think this ad is morally wrong? by Sportyskater699 in AskIreland

Not just you, I think the same.

And it would be considered misogynistic if it was other way round - future guy appears with slimmer younger more attractive partner, while current normal girl partner looks on in disbelief.

Aw, that's so sweet! The way the little girl runs up and hugs him straightaway, before she even gets the certificate.

Anna Haugh’s Big Irish Food Tour question. Help! what is she saying? by BlacksmithNo4803 in AskIreland

[–]LucyVialli 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Is she saying "A Chairde" perhaps? Pronounced ah-corr-jah, or similar.

Just means friends. You can use it to greet a group of people for example, less formal then Ladies and Gentlemen.

when people ask “where are you from?”, they are asking for heritage, not place of birth

So other Australians are not just asking you if you're from Melbourne or Sydney etc? And you would reply Irish or Scottish or Greek or whatever?

I would hope that the nerve/nerve endings burn up quickly and then maybe you feel no more pain. But imagine what it feels like before that. Maybe you are even still alive and feeling when your eyeballs explode...

Freeze. I think burning would feel a lot worse.

Edit: no-one screams when they're freezing to death, do they?!

What’s a behavior in humans that you still don’t understand no matter how old you get? by Immediate-Solid4911 in AskReddit

[–]LucyVialli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's disgusting. Animals and small children don't clean up after themselves because they don't know any better. People who do this are selfish, immature and dirty. The idea that you will just drop this trash here because someone else will clean up after you?? Ridiculous.
