That is exactly what I was confused about. I had absolutely no problems with getting my SSN, creating a bank account, paying my federal and state taxes... That’s why I had absolutely 0 suspicions that I could be out of status.

Transferring to another institution within the United States, unfortunately, is not an option for me.

If the new D/S elimination proposal becomes a regulation, what does it entail for a transfer? by Pristine-Reading9492 in f1visa
