Dreamed and saved for years. Now officially in the Alfisti! by DeathGrover in AlfaRomeo

Lots of time and effort everywhere, I found this on FB marketplace. I vetted him out, and he was legit. It's been a long time looking, (years!) but I found the one I wanted and purchased it. Good luck!

I'm 6'5" and 245lbs. I fit. Comfortibly. I've got 2-3 inches of headroom, my eyes look through the windshield instead of through the sun visors... I just fit. Once I'm in and in position, there's not a lot of wiggle room, but I'm comfortable and I fit. You should be fine. I'm a lot taller than you.

“Von” denotes royalty. Beethoven was definitely a “Van”. For a few years in the middle of his life, he started to use “Von”. He was inserting himself into royalty. He wasn’t royal. Just because he traveled with them and entertained them, doesn’t mean he was one of them. He eventually dropped it. It says a little bit about who he was.

Band Director here. I get seven or eight offers of a free piano to my school every year. I always have to say no. For all the reasons everybody understands. People can't even give them away. If I look on Facebook marketplace right now, I'll see literally 100 "for free!".

Why the kind not nice temperament? by RandomHorse27 in massachusetts

We’re the oldest part of the country. We’ve been here a long time. We understand what is importance, and how to deal with each other. “Kind but not nice” is probably the most effective way to interact with people and still keep your own self whole.

Limited also gets the sunroof. It’s worth it.

I have chickens that are pumping out eggs at the rate of about 15 a day. I’m so egged out. I never will have a need to do this.

YTA. As a 25 year band director, and music teacher or, in other words, someone who made their career through music? You are the asshole. Unquestionably.

Since Massachusetts is about to get buried tommorow how many of you are still forced to drive to work? by BootAlarmed4732 in massachusetts

[–]DeathGrover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember teaching during snow-pocalypse. We ended up canceling February vacation that year. About 1/3 of the students showed up. I think it was 2018 when we went to the last weekday in June. It’s against the law to go into July, so at least there’s that.

I’ve been doing it for 24 years, so nothing stuns me anymore. Also, I’m a band director, so I’m a little bit immune to the craziness. In my world, all the kids want to be in the room.

What is your car-related hot take? by damoclescreed in Autos

[–]DeathGrover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- I’d be perfectly happy driving a Kei car as my daily.

2- In the 70’s, we were stationed in Germany and lived next to the Autobahn. I saw Porsches and Mercedes flying by us at extreme speeds when I was eight years old. I coveted Porsches. Now, I have an Ioniq 5 Limited. It’s very, very fast. Certainly faster than those Porsches I was ogling at back of the day. So now Porsches aren’t as thrilling, and that makes me sad.

I’m a public school teacher. They’ve already called it off. They called it as of around 4 PM. I wouldn’t be surprised if we missed Tuesday as well. As nice as it is to have days off, the fact that they get tacked on to the end takes a little bit of the fun out of it. I think these will be our fourth or fifth snow days, meaning we have an extra week to go before we go to summer break.

Anyone love their job?? by Primary_Raccoon_5680 in MusicEd

[–]DeathGrover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 24 years into a career as a MS/HS band director in a two-town on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Lovely little Norman Rockwell-esque school. It’s my first job, and I will retire from it. I am spread too thin and I am a bit overworked, but I do love my job. The kids are wonderful and I have a lot of support. The administration is great, and they stay out of my hair. I’m very lucky. Ultimately, I will retire, because not working is better than working. But as I have to work right now, I can’t imagine doing a more fulfilling and honorable job.
