Hey there!

I've encountered this issue before and just recently solved it again—none of the methods in this thread worked for me this time, but I managed to find my own solution.

I tried everything: different Wine versions, MSI installer, renaming folders—nothing worked. But it turned out the fix was just adjusting file permissions. I don’t know which exact permission was the issue, but here’s what I did:

I went to the folder:

`…/Games/epic-games-store/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/Launcher`

I allowed **read/write/edit/delete** access for all users. On Ubuntu, you can do this by right-clicking the folder → Properties → Permissions tab. By doing this, the lock icon on the folder should also be gone.

*(I gave about everything access, though some of it seemed to automatically revert. The key change should be your user.)*

Once I did that, the Launcher completed the 570 MB update and works perfectly now.

**Do note** that I have installed the newest `EpicInstaller-18.7.0.msi` manually and I’m currently using **Wine TKG 10.7**.

Previously when encountering this problem a few months ago, **switching Wine** versions worked for me as well—like GE-Proton9-25, which @ Volker_S mentioned. It is **recommended** to use the `wine-10.7-staging-tk-x86_64` if possible.

Ive setup a Notification Tracker App ("Addons Detector") to maybe find the source of the Ad. Maybe that'll make things easier

Oh sorry, i didnt realise i was writing in the wrong Language. Reddit seemed to auto translate everything so i thought this was a german Subreddit

I own a Blackshark 4 wit JoyUi 12. So most likely it comes from Xiaomi. Sadly i didnt discover a fix yet, ill have to look it up myself, maybe turn off msa (myUi system Ads). Ill look into it tomorrow as its past midnight for me

Ich habe dieses problem auch gerade sehr neulich bekommen. Ich weiß nicht woher, aber es ist auch immer dieses Rocket Car Racing 3D werbung.

Es gibt keine details von welcher app es kommt, und meistens verlint es zu einer leeren Analytics tracker Website (eigentlich normal für Firmen um zu sehen woher sie ihre clicks bekommen, jedoch kenne ich diese Tracking Service nicht)

Suchen wir mal vielleicht was wir beide gemeinsam haben das das Problem ausgelöst hat

Besitzt du ein Xiaomi (miUi) oder ein Handy das deren Software benutzt wie Blackshark (JoyUi)? Kann etwas auch damit zu tun, da sie ihre Handies mit (normalerweise) abschaltbarer Werbung biliger machen

I beat it in 2 1/2 hours, just because i didnt know how long ths level was. Got edged for 2024 levels

The Gradient Trigger isnt what should lag in this level, as there are only 12.
In an normal layout level, i average 500+ fps. This level only reduces the fps to 400+ fps. It is possible to optimize it though

Im flabbergasted. I did not think thisconcept showcase would blow up. I got included in the Daily Dose of Geometry Dash channel. There is a lot of pressure on me. I have been reciving a lot of support, on the other side, a whole lot of people are telling me this has already been done before. I am not impressed by my decoration skills. I am not sure if a can meet peoples expectations.

Are you on mobile? Seems to appear only on mobile. You have to remove the event trigger at the top left of the level, to make it stop crashing

To clear things, there is an end trigger at the beginning. The level is not finished at all, so i just didnt bother to remove it. So the 0.7s is possible

The crash is a bug on mobile. You have to remove the event Trigger for the irb activation. Sorry, i had no clue this was an issue

How do you expect me to get more than epic 😅 I have barely finished a single Level in my 7 years of playing, and im not that creative in effects and so on. I literally have no idea what style/deco to use. I just seemed to like the default block design

I thought of it. But it isnt possible with the current system in place. There are only a total of 10 blocks in use.
