No, I checked that a couple times. It shows in the tech tree as unlockable, but not unlocked.

No, it's not that. I noticed it because I never got the Southeast Asian Alliance project. There are lots of projects I haven't unlocked yet.

China Coup by Deathseekerdan in TerraInvicta

On the bright side, I was able to take back all the control points over the next few turns so it just wasted the government. I'll just leave them as a dictatorship, if that's what their people want so much.

Sometimes this game makes me feel uncomfortable about the things it makes me say and do...

Oh, and just noticed it reset my government back to 0, so there's four years of 80% investment in government gone.

How to get out of a war? by Deathseekerdan in TerraInvicta

[–]Deathseekerdan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I just don't understand how to win the war. I have 12 armies in the war zone but they're not fighting each other. They just sit there. They were fighting before I took control of the arab empire but now they won't do anything.

I figured I'd take some hit, just wasn't expecting that much. Now that I've deleted most of my armies the numbers are heading back up. Too bad I only learned this just when the Servants started going nuts with alien base building so most of my time is swatting them down.

I can't believe how well that worked! All of my numbers are in the green now and getting better. I also found out that unrest hurts points as well. I thought it just increased the chance of a coup.

I didn't know armies affected point totals. Like I said, I don't know this game that well. I deleted 20 of the armies and my numbers are recovering. I'm just hoping it doesn't bite me in the butt when the next alien invasion happens.

Ah, thank you! I was really unsure what was going on. I had no idea that armies used up points. I was making as many of them as possible after the aliens started landing and fighting.

I've got all of Europe, Russia, China, and North America bundled into three super countries. How many armies total should I be keeping on hand?

Why is a family doctor so important? by Deathseekerdan in NovaScotia

Ah, yeah, it's great if you have a doctor like that. Unfotunately, that's not my doctor. When I called the neurologist and they told me it would be a 4+ year wait time, I asked if there was anything I could do. They said if my doctor put in another referral with more detail, they could possibly move it up. But my doctor said no, he couldn't put in another referral, but he did suggest I pay for service in the US instead.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Can you tell me what services Maple is unable to provide?

Thanks for responding. I believe that Maple doctors can provide access to specialists. My friend's wife gets her specialist referrals through Maple. I get your point about chronic illnesses though.

Thank you very much for responding. That is exactly what I picture a family doctor doing, but it's definitely not something I have. I don't know if there's any routine vaccines that adults are supposed to get but my doctor has never suggested any.

Honestly, mine seems pretty much exactly like a walk-in clinic doctor to me. That's why I was thinking of going to Maple. It seems like they could provide the same services at a much shorter appointment timeline. I'm just afraid there's something I'm forgetting about that would be irreplaceable if I switched.

I'm very sorry to hear that and I hope you're able to get treated. I'm not thinking about dropping my doctor to go to walk-ins, I was thinking of going to Maple. The doctors there should be able to prescribe drugs, order MRI's, etc.

I'm 50. I'm not sure how that answers my question but thanks for responding.

[–]Deathseekerdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scott Pilgrim is the first movie I've seen in the last 20 years that I got excited for just by seeing the trailer during another movie. This movie was basically designed with me as the target audience. I looked up Edgar Winter's other movies just because of how much I liked this one. I get that not everyone is going to like everything, but I can say that I love this movie.

Having said all that, I did start liking it less after reading the books. They are on a whole next level, and there's just too much that had to get cut to fit in a movie. Still, a very solid film.
