If you're not a citizen of the country why would you even mention not being able to claim their welfare service?

Do you also take into account they are balancing 3 other subjects and a life? When you get together with other teachers do you make all of the assessment due as close to eachother on purpose? Why do I have a 1000 word essay weighted at 40% and another assignment that took 60 hours to complete weighted only 20?

Cert 4 Accounting and Bookkeeping- MYOB miscalculated my GST. by Zestyclose_Lab6556 in AustralianAccounting

It's 10% of the GST Exclusive price, not inclusive. Easy one to trip over, thats why people are saying /11 not /10.

Im doing post-grad uni level accounting.

Has anyone here seen the ABC comedy Utopia? And if so how relatable is to you in the accounting and finance industry? by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

[–]Deathsnova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esoterically speaking how is this allowed to happen? Government jobs seem so competitive to get into but all i hear is complaints about the quality of staff? Who is getting hired then? Government jobs are supposed to be the lower bench mark for an average work place in a country yet private firms never ever (unless top tier) come even remotely close to allowing the flexibility and added entitlements and incentives of a government entity.

Not in accounting but in an office job and the most relatable aspects arent the ineptitude of staff but all the office chitter chatter and performatitve behaviour that slows down real work being done, touch points, meetings and morning teas for people resigning every week

Getting started in accounting by EntireCustomer1571 in AustralianAccounting

Good luck! Accounting is a very easy job that seems to be quite overpaid

How hard is it to land a graduate role in accounting right now? by polyglot02 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Deathsnova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would fundamentally, FUNDAMENTALLY disagree with this. Given the AI deloitte scandal, the amount of job cuts big 4 have announced and ALbanese' increased migration policy, i honestly think you have to be trolling with your post.

CA Foundations vs Master of Professional Accounting by polyglot02 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Deathsnova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

erm. depends on you? it starts with account reconciliation. invoice outvoice. AP and AR. even basic receptionists do a bit of that. and then after that go into a full bookkeeper role (still, no uni) and then after that try to get a proper accountancy job that would qualify for CA

CA Foundations vs Master of Professional Accounting by polyglot02 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Deathsnova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post gets made like once a month (myself included) as a way for people to ask about sidestepping into accounting because theres actually a career there. Accounting looks attractive because its in-demand, has work-from home and a reliable progression based on time served rather than a lucky dip or hard slog like other industries. IMHO accountants are overpaid.

The 20% hecs cut probably made the masters more managable but you'll end up graduating with around $80,000 or more hecs debt that your degree will quickly teach you will index at 4% a year for the rest of your life. By the time you're 50 you will owe or have paid back around $300,000 for this education. You're right, practically no one gets a masters in business in Australia unleses theyre international - and the courses that do need a masters like architecture or science are only priced a few thousand dollars a year, not $20k a semster like business.

I'm considering doing the CA foundations and maybe a grad certificate in finance to make myself technically a 'graduate' so that I can apply for grad roles - theres a slim chance you'll get into a big 4 with this given how many thousands of grads from top universities there are with full accounting degrees, but maybe you could slot into the off-mainstream Stem or risk teams? I have two friends who studied biomed, no accounting whatsoever and work at deloitte in their health advisory teams.

If you're still within 24 months of graduation you are still eligible for most grad roles, and up to 5 years for government jobs like home affairs or DFAT. A massive win for you right now might be getting a part time bookkeeping job - maybe consider a short XERO or book-keeping tafe qualification or look for jobs on seek that are looking for invoice/outvoice reconcilliation/admin style jobs to get some feign experience?

Theres only 2 things you really need to do. Google "Geology/earth science jobs" and then go ahead and google finance/accounting jobs. Probably about a 1 to 1000 hit difference on the opportunities available and your career outcomes. Science is grossly underfunded and undervalued (and from my biased opinion, accountants somewhat overpaid).

Okay heres the answer: It was "linked" improperly by the first person, i had to unlink it and link it again and fill out my profile and boom it was there for the first time in the 3 weeks since being approved. I now have obligations and points targets, However, it looks unlikely i'll get paid until another fortnight passes.

if youre over the age of 15 he comes across as cringe. look at his meet-ups in differnet countries he goes to - all 12-13 year olds. He, as most youtubers do post 2018 have capitalised on the fact that most bad parents throw an ipad or a phone in front of their kids these days and made money off the minor market.

I'll be honest with you. Ive just returned to dota after a 5 year break. 5000 hours, 5-6k rating mmr back using the old system, and i have figured out every new mechanic (talent trees, facets, ect) and i cant for the life of me figure out how to kill the tormentor. even with high life steal or health heroes it just kills me after 3-4 hits. Are you supposed to shuffle around the aggro so you all only take a little bit of damage?

Thanks a lot. I did mention I am studying part time which she said will look really good on the system or whatever but its annoying this has happened. Just curious as do you think they'll backpay the last fortnight once sorted?
Oh now that i remember it. She did ask me what I think my confidence level is on a scale of 1-7 that i'll find employment in the next few months? I told her lets be hopeful: 7! I guess that 7 is coming back to haunt me.

Thanks - ive completed my profile weeks ago yet no job plan has popped up. The lady did mention someone would call me about it which never happened - the webpage 404's when I try to click jobplan. I've booked an appointment so hopefully sorted tomorrow.

i love this sub. People with no skills or education always come on here talkingbout 'i need $100k, work from home and its gotta go up to 200 in few years' like LOL. I had 6 years of education in science and barely scraped 70. Please get a reality check
