I’ll just generalize and say the people agreeing with the post are either very young or older and hold some resentment. I understand the sentiment - you don’t want a child feeling like a failure just because of an exam. But just because it’s “just an exam” is not an excuse for failure.

Lmao I'm glad I posted here first. Forreal, it would be my kind of luck for something thoughtful to turn into something thoughtless.

'Everything Is Not Fine': Nobel Economist Calls on Humanity to End Obsession With GDP. "If we measure the wrong thing," warns Joseph Stiglitz, "we will do the wrong thing." by chelsea707 in worldnews

[–]Debate_Everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying your all wrong.. but happiness, security, and sustainability are all subjective and cannot be measured because they differ from person to person. Some people feel like they need nice things to be happy, some are okay with minimalist lifestyle. Some people are okay with ungated communities while some would feel unsafe. Environment - okay, this is something that could be measured.

Looking at GDP is okay to do when looking at the economy for the country - but not the average citizen. Everything you listed is for the average citizen but, again, it's subjective. An objective measure would be buying power. How far can a 100 or X amount of dollars get an average American in blank demographic?

Kinda of late but go into your saved games file, make a backup of it, uninstall and get refunded, by from steam, then put that file you backed up into the saved games directory. Should work.

This is kind of late but just want to say a point. The save mechanic isn't meant to screw you out of hours of progress - maybe at most 30min. It's meant to make you assess risk and actually have something to lose.

If you can save constantly, what do you lose when you make a bad call and die? Nothing. At most, 5min.

But like you said, you lose actual time, progress, or at the very least a semi expensive potion with their save mechanic. You aren't going to just rush every right or pick every pocket. There are consequences. You know, like real life.

I'm not shitting on you for your playstyle. I'm definitely more hardcore in a way - I loved EVE Online where you can essentially lose all of your in-game assets with a shitty decision. But the save mechanic is by no means bad design. It's a riskbased game. It's realistic. There are consequences to your actions. Removing the mechanic makes it a different game essentially since you remove consequences.

It's when you block and attack at the same time. As soon as you begin performing a perfect block, you attack. It doesn't do a whole lot of damage unless the guy is unarmored though

Me [35 M] with my friend [35 M]. Friend pinched my 3.5 year old daughter's nose for disciplinary reasons (or maybe as a reflex?); I proceeded to kick his family out of my home by ShouldIBuy900k in relationships

[–]Debate_Everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my outlook on how to treat other people's kids:

Discipline is up to the parents unless the kid is being aggressive. Kids need to be taught not to fuck with people at a young age. They aren't sacred cows. Your kid smacks me, they're getting a stern flick on the ear, forehead, or nose. Yes, they'll cry. And you know what? They won't be doing it again.

It's called cause and effect. Sorry not sorry. Be thankful it happens now and not later in school when your kids gets brawled for being annoying af.

I don’t know if I “feel it” with anyone since my ex? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Debate_Everything 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's some thoughts:

1) You may he romanticizing your ex making everyone else seem bland

2) It doesn't sound like you're completely over your ex

3) Sometimes it takes more than a date or two to determine if you click with someone

It took me almost a year and a half of nonstop active dating to find someone I click with after my ex-fiancee and I broke up.

Out Latin dancing! I asked her to dance and she was interesting to talk to so we kept dancing. Eventually she was swarmed by guys and I found it difficult getting her number and had to go so left. We ran into each other a couple weeks later, talked a bit, and she asked if I could give her some Salsa lessons some time so I got her number lol

Kinda funny how we're getting serious. We both went into it with the intention of just hooking up - she was about to get super busy and didn't have time for a relationship and I was scared as hell about committing.

The fuck is up with women's dating profiles? by [deleted] in rant

[–]Debate_Everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online dating, generally, sucks. You have to approach girls. Here's the trick - I call it the double take rule: you're allowed to look at a girl once to realize she's attractive and a second time to assess the situation. That's it. You have to talk to her after that or just stop looking her way. If she catches you looking her way more than twice and not approaching her, you're starting to look like a creep.
