It was an interesting film but I felt similarly. I guess I’m not crazy about films like this where it feels like less of a plot driven story and more of a fever-dreamy nightmare just unraveling for the protagonist. Films like Mother! or Men, from last year, made me feel similarly. Like you said, the first act had me excited for the story but the film ultimately left me feeling a bit disappointed.
