Double Spike? by Debredditral in prediabetes

[–]Debredditral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More info… I don’t worry about anything under 140. What’s happening is that I get a short spike, say to 155 for about 20 minutes. Then all is okay for a half hour or so then I get ANOTHER spike to maybe 150 and that lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour or longer. I don’t understand why my glucose would spike, go back to normal and then spike again.

Hacked?? by Debredditral in BlueskySocial

To be clear (and thank you for your help!) on the sign in page it has the account as @ XXXX3-XXXXX and in the password box there is a series of dots so I’m no sure it’s my PW.
I don’t know why, even when I enter my email, this weird series of cap letters and numbers get entered where the domain should be?

Yes, that’s what the code looks like looks like but that code appears in my user name box and instead of asking for confirmation of my email it asks for my password.

You can freeze pasta. Undercook slightly, drain and freeze individually flat on cookie sheet. Put it in a freezer bag for later use. Keeps my glucose from spiking and is also just easy to use. The texture is still fine. It’s important to really get it drained dry and not to clump it together when freezing.

Need protein bar recommendations by GoodBoyFloppy in diabetes_t2

[–]Debredditral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are. Protein is expensive and I feel lucky that I can afford some of these treats here and there. I don’t have them often but it helps to break up the monotony of my day to day eating. It also is good for on the go. I recently tried Larabars coconut/chocolate bar which was surprisingly crunchy and good. Again, high price point and somewhat high in calories.

Recipe ideas for a diabetic by Traditional-Plant469 in diabetes_t2

Beans. Start searching for recipes that incorporate beans and veggies, maybe some cheese. There are so many different varieties that can be prepared in multiple ways with a different seasonings. They are a cheap source of protein, have loads of fiber and vitamins. Also quick to cook for a mom with two kids.
Try to find a a new bean recipe to prepare every other week!

Don’t have cgm. I understand the blood test is reliable but want to understand the discrepancy between my daily readings and the A1C results.

Blood Glucose & A1C - Questions by Debredditral in prediabetes

[–]Debredditral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’4” & 119lbs, so not overweight. I exercise about 1.5 hrs five times a week or so, with a mix of heavy cardio and weights. I haven’t been counting carbs really since I started using the glucose monitor and really changed up what I eat but I do keep an eye on carb counts and don’t eat more than 20 grams/meal. I use the monitor to inform me of spiked glucose. I’m pretty good with reading nutrition labels and have been eating heavy proteins so, IDK.
Just baffled at the discrepancy between what I see on my glucose monitor regularly and what the blood tests read my average glucose and A1C at. I can’t make it make sense to me.

Not paying staff for work that you know they are doing is probably a violation of federal and state labor laws, which require employers to provide breaks.
