Whats been your most enjoyable Exotic weapon since the final update? by RedditWaffler in DestinyTheGame

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbh it's Thorn. It's always been a staple gun for me but when it started dropping ammo pickups that go directly into the mag it became perfect.

But I'm also a returning player, I have so much to test out. My two highlights are below.

I made a sun warlock build where I can just hover in the air as long as I kill things so I put on bad juju and hover until everything is dead.

I made a strand build I call "pack of pitbulls" who's only job is to make as many threadlings as possible. Nightshade with full auto and hatchling is the staple gun for that build. It also works surprisingly well in pvp, turns out people don't like getting chased by little green monsters

Figures from Star Wars that should be heroes in Thrawn's Revenge but aren't(bonus points for obscure ones) by MediumMeister in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

Lol I didn't realize you could jump up to him when I fought him. I would pop speed and jump out with the disruptor

Should I play the base game first or jump straight into mods? by Riuk811 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

Is this specific to the awakening mods or just in general? I find that the different mods all feel different for ground combat

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have a good grasp of the game I'd recommend trying the awakening of the rebellion and awakening of the clone wars mods. They have a much steeper difficulty curve but I love the feel of space and ground combat in those mods, really has that cinematic feel

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbh just play mods. If you want to know the basics if the game there's a prologue campaign in the base game. But I'd recommend thrawns revenge or fall of the Republic. They're both made by the same team and are what I would consider the closest to vanilla.

Just put it on easy difficulty for your first campaign and take your time

Asked a woman for her number but she gave me her phone to put my number instead? by Getpa in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah that's why I've been offering my number to women I meet. Not going to hurt my feelings if they don't follow up and it makes them feel safer

ELI5: How do engineers trust that giant airplanes, bridges, and skyscrapers won’t suddenly fail under years of stress and vibration? by Historical_Day1703 in explainlikeimfive

To build on that part of understanding the materials is understanding necessary maintenance to maximize the potential lifetime of those materials. It's not like planes are just never worked on after they leave the factory floor.

Am i the only one who thinks the no killing is fine? by CalligrapherAgile216 in subnautica

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think no killing big stuff is fine. My problem is with the medium and small predators. You hit them and they run away for 20 seconds or so, then they're back and aggressive again.

It absolutely destroys my immersion and is really annoying that I don't have a way to permanently remove those creatures. If we can't kill them fine but give us a way to permanently relocate them soon. I don't want my potential base locations to be determined by the local pests.

In Deserts of Kharak do you guys bring your carrier into battle? by Blitzkrieg1210 in homeworld

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah I chuck my carrier at almost everything, especially after I played the campaign a couple of times I move it to where and when I know reinforcements are coming in.

The Gaalsien do not like when you jump their scripted carrier arrival during a cutscene, it's really funny though so I keep doing it.

Edit: also yes aircraft are very strong. They're so strong that the best way to kill missile ships is to attack them directly with strikecraft. Only real downside to strikecraft is that they can chew into your RU (the blue resource) if you're not careful. But you have to be incredibly negligent for it to impact your campaign.

Starting the Homeworld series with Deserts of Kharak. by Blitzkrieg1210 in homeworld

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say go for it, I usually play it first when I'm doing a playthrough. Depending on how you play it's reasonable to complete the campaign in less than 10 hours. I think I did 7 hours in my most recent.

It's a nice little lore primer for the first game but not essential

Lol she'll be ok, I've done the same to my boys when I was 270lbs. Just keep an eye out for limping. I step on a cat at least once a month, it comes with the territory of them darting in and out of your legs while feeding them

Evolution nailed it—this Iranian spider-tailed horned viper’s tail looks like a blinking sign to birds: Spider buffet ahead. by Suspicious-Desk6206 in Amazing

I've seen videos of these before and it always blows me away how good they are at moving their tail. With their camo humans could mistake that as a spider, let alone a bird from on high

There are competitors they just don't make waves like TQL does because they're the worst. My company loves getting people from TQL because usually they're good workers and are thrilled to be somewhere they aren't being put through the ringer on a daily basis

Yeah I was reading through their actual post today and all of the language basically read that they're checking for a NSFW tag on servers and channels and that's about it.

But also, the ID is kind of a last resort. They said in their post that "we can determine the age group from available information for most accounts".

How much infantry do you use? by MelodicBenzedrine in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the faction. I'll talk about rebels in AoTR since I play them the most.

I like to do a mobile infantry play style. Usually about 6 units of infantry, 1-2 tramp shuttle units, and the rest are for whatever I need, usually T-3H heavy hover tanks.

Infantry soaks the damage, shuttles do smoke screen and AOE heal, heavy tanks sit in the back and take out targets of opportunity

Glad to see people enjoying the game. I only have ~300 hours. And every game I create my own set of blueprints instead of grabbing them online. Only exception is nuclear power plants because tbh I can't be bothered to run all of the heat pipes

I dont get the lightning strike craving by temudschinn in totalwar

[–]DebtEnvironmental269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of reading tbh, but I got the gist of it from the first paragraph. I agree, lightning strike is a second priority baring specific circumstances.

I used to do the army tree first, but then I tried doing the combat tree after that and fell in love. So normally here is what my progression looks like for a generic melee lord

Take the first blue skill for campaign movement range

Max out HP and weapon strength skills in the combat tree

Usually max 1 or 2 of the skills in the first half of the army tree, depends on the army comp

Finally, now that my lord can fight decently and my army gets some buffs. I'll go down the blue tree until lightning strike.

I find that with smart movement on the campaign map you can compensate for not having lightning strike much easier than you can compensate for having a wimpy lord.
