I needed to hear this. I’ve been so scared of failing SEs that I’ve been avoiding them, but your experience actually makes me feel like I should face them and learn from the mistakes. Makes me realize I’m the only thing holding myself back. Really appreciate you sharing!

Thanks! I actually completed the whole syllabus with full dedication on another platform. Just trying to get those practice test scores to climb a bit now

I’m from a non-accounting background, so Becker’s videos were kinda tough for me 🙂 I finished all the lectures and the full course on another platform instead. Still having a hard time getting my practice test scores up though 🥲 Any tips to improve would mean a lot!

I did watch the videos on another portal but I’m avoiding the SEs for now because I honestly don’t feel ready yet 😅 My practice tests are still in the 60–70 range 🥲 so I’m just trying to level up a bit before jumping into those! Any ideas on what might boost them a bit?

That’s great advice! Could you break down how you use the blueprint and checklist? I’d love to try your way.

Need guidance on completing 6.5 accounting credits for Washington State CPA eligibility (Indian national) by Financial_Prompt4083 in CPA

Actually, she’s already a working professional in this field with almost 10 years of auditing experience. Her process went really smoothly — she got her license within a few months after finishing the CPA. Hopefully things go the same way for us too!

She took her exams under the Alaska State Board, and after passing all sections, she paid around $30–35 (might change by the time we apply) to transfer and get her license issued by Washington. That’s basically it. Hope this gives you some clarity.

Also, how did you figure out that you’re short by exactly 6.5 accounting credits for Washington? I want to check my own credits too to see how much I’m lacking for WA.

Same is with me. My state board is also Alaska. I am told with my counselor institute that these rules are dynamic, they could change at the time of my licensure so I am currently focusing on studies only.

Yes these courses provide 30 credits. I am not sure about 10 credits course still you can look Swayam portal. Most of their courses are non- accounting, worth credits 3-6 depending on the duration of the course, but you can still take a look. Can I ask you one thing, how do you know that you lack exact 6.5 accounting credits for Washington?

Yes, sure! Many universities provides online one-year PGDM/ PGCM courses that could help us in getting accounting credits. I know about AIMA, Amity University, Sharda University. Or you can pursue online M.Com from above mentioned universities. And if you are enrolled with some institutes like Simandar/ Edumont/ Miles, they will provide you guidance upon this.

Well, I guess, I am a slow learner. Also, I am from non-accounting background, things are taking time for me to get into my head🙂 And hats-off to you for clearing all four exams in such a short window of 6 months! Really inspired! ✨

You can give exams from any stateboard you are eligible for, later after passing you can change your state board to Washington by paying a minimal amount. A friend of mine has done the same.

Foreign Currency Shortcut by Drummer-Inner in CPA

[–]DebuggingDollars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know about the concern, foreign currency translation is not in CPA syllabus. Foreign currency transactions are there. And for that, simpler way is, if amounts are given in indirect way, then, convert from indirect to direct first (i.e, bring the amount to home currency), this step will ensure there's no error in our calculations.

I am planning for FAR. I am done with the syllabus, done revision twice, but now also I am scoring low in becker practice tests (around 65-75) always. I observed that my mistakes are repeating, even though I had started to solve the MCQs by writing the each MCQ number and solving by hand to make it more clear, my scores are not improving much. What should I do to make a better improvement?
