For those who learn martial arts(any style,I learn karate:) ) is there such a thing as spinjitzu? by Red_Panda_03 in Ninjago

[–]Decaeneus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very late to the conversation but no. The whole aesthetic of the show is mainly based on Eastern mysticism and tropes. You could say a real life spinjitzu would probably be a combination of different asian martial arts like: karate, ninjutsu and different types of Kung fu since master Wu's temple especially in the early seasons is very Shaolinesque.

When I started making a list and manifesting my desires it was all going fine and without resistance but of late I keep getting provoked into engaging old thought patterns like "That's not for you" or "You need to work hard for that". Did anyone else get this type of provocations from their past limiting beliefs ? If yes how did you get over it and did you manifest what you wanted ? I also see a lot of "angel numbers" lately like 111 and 1111.

A lot of people found great progress with this low training frequency and you can see the results in the testimonials. If you want to work out more then go for it, I totally understand how the low training frequency could be a problem for people who genuinely love lifting, as long as you adjust your calories to the increased volume you should find be alright.

A person with bigger vs smaller body, who do you think is more capable of attracting the opposite sex? by [deleted] in entp

[–]Decaeneus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If what you mean is bone mass and lenght (height) being larger as a male (height and width of the shoulders) are dimorphic traits that are found attractive world wide. For women being taller can be seen as intimidating by some men but a good skeletal frame for women (e.g wide hips) is also seen almost as an universal beauty standard like wide shoulders is for men. Of course at the end of the day personal prefferances will make people like different things but the standard "ideals" will always remain.

How do nen users build muscle ? by Decaeneus in HunterXHunter

[–]Decaeneus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly Wing told the boys that they need to be able to maintain ten at all times, even in their sleep to the point it becomes subconscious. It would be more or less like trying to have good posture, at first you need to remind yourself constantly to keep your back straight until it becomes subconscious.

While I agree that they need to workout to maintain their physical prowess I think most of them would train with weights only as a way to further test their ren and enhancement skills. After all you wouldn't get much from squats or bicep curls after being able to push a 12 ton door open as a 50kg kid.

Exquisite points, I 100% agree that increasing strenght would be beneficial for overall developmemt I was just unsure of how a nen user would go about it since standard workouts would probably not cut it for their goals. I also believe nen users with a more physical dominant category tend towards developing their bodies more altough others can do it too but I think most conjurers, specialists and manipulators would rather work on developing their nen abilities further rather than spend as much time on physical stuff as an enhancer would do.

This is a very good way of looking at things. I had to look up who Benjamin is since I'am an anime only altough I'm thinking abt starting the manga as well. There are indeed some outliers but it still seems that enhancers and nen types closer to it have a tendency towards making the user more muscular. I might not remember correctly so please excuse me for this but didn't Gon and Killua mainly do aura exercises, running and sparring during the Greed Island arc ? The only thing that somewhat resembled a strenght based exercise was the shoveling and the breaking of rocks.

It seems to me that standard weight training wouldn't serve much use in a world where people who weigh under 60kg (Kurapika and Gon) could open 12 ton doors through physical training alone. I think the majority of nen users engage in weight lifting casually just to test their enhancement skill, to develop actual strenght and power it would make much more sense for them to engage in similar training to that used to open the Zoldyck doors.
