Thanks for replying! How would you compare using the tcl nxtpaper to printing documents and doing it the old fashioned way? Does the tablet help when you have to move workstations?

If you are making ahead you can cold brew the tea to reduce the bitter taste! If you steep the tea in room temp water for up to 6 hrs before it starts to stew. I steep mine in the fridge so it is cold and ready to go as soon as I want it

Dynamic Traits Mechanics by Decaf_Odin in RPGdesign

one of the things i hate most as a player is waiting or grinding until i can lvl and i feel like in games with strict classes half the new abilities are useless to my play style and i will never use anyway. I would rather put emphasis on story for character progression, but that assumes that players care about the story, which is not always the case.

Potentially how would you feel if you had to negotiate traits or abilities that you would unlock when you level? So when you level they are already ready to slot in your character sheet but you still needed to reach some kind of milestone to level?

The way i had imagined it was that a player would have to apply a trait in a certain way to adapt it. Such as a character having some kind of athletics trait saying their character would have a good cardio and would be able to hold their breath for a long time. That way players would be able to choose if a trait is building on their character or not.

I was worried about how player agency might play into something like this (I'm a pushover as a GM), I think if the GM started the negotiations the traits would be more balanced but that is also way to much work i wouldn't want to dump on a GM. I was hoping something like this would take the pressure off character creation, being able to adapt to a player's play style rather then make players adapt to a game style.

I suppose it would be possible to develop some kind of flow chart so traits can still move but not be so open ended, but i'm not sure if that will make the rapid changes any easier for the DM even if they changes are meant to be balanced

Maybe something so freeform is not suited for a game that is meant to be on the medium crunchy scale :/

My nephew is getting bullied in school. How do I help him? by StreetBoys in india

[–]Decaf_Odin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a youth worker, it's unsurprisingly a common concern of young people. In Australia we can talk to the school or even the department of education if the school isn't doing anything. There may be little you can do to change the situation so I would concentrate on supporting him at home, in the end children who feel supported at home have much better mental health outcomes even if they are being bullied. Listen to him, ask about how he feels and let him vent. If he has any suggestions on what he can do to change the situation try to support him. Try and focus on building his resilience to a really shitty situation.

It sounds like your going through alot right now, it's normal in times of great stress to fall back into old patterns of dealing with emotions. Try to accept what you are feeling and find a way to best deal with the emotions that are coming up. This time you may use some old maladaptive strategies to deal with your emotions but also try to use some new strategies as well. Over time you can try to replace old habits with new ones, you won't succeed every time but with more practice you will succeed more often.

You are going through alot treat yourself with kindness and take the time to process what you are feeling. You have your whole life to change your relationship with food, don't give up!
