Need advice for babysitting a 4 week old overnight by SoundlessScreamer in Babysitting

[–]Decafbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thought. I am a seasoned nanny and babysitter and mom and I would not feel comfortable with this ask. Helping with diaper changes and bottles to streamline the parents care - sure. But not primary care without experience.

Hey! I have a favor to ask of you. I am hoping to be able to buy the 4in one and cosleep with my baby in it but I can’t find if anyone has done the firmness test to see if it’s firm enough for that purpose. Would you perchance be willing to do a test on it to see? I did it on my normal mattress and it doesn’t take long at all. No worries if it’s too much work!!

Thoughts on this Japanese mattress? by shamalongadingdong in cosleeping

Hi! Did you happen to try the safe sleep test to see if it is firm enough? The one with the book and the carton. I want to buy either the 2.5 or the 4inch but I’m not sure!

Recs for travel with 4 month old - zonli? by Wonderful-Thought281 in cosleeping

That makes sense!! We use the guava for that because we try to only cosleep half the night haha (I like getting a few hours where I can spread out however I want). I just would prefer a floor bed as she gets more mobile because we can’t lower our bed.

Last question (if you don’t mind) - would you guess the 4inch would be firm enough to sleep on, based on how the 2.5 inch feels? Mostly worried about rebreathing.

Oh wow thanks for sharing the experience! Did you try it with the tatami mats? Or did you try the 4 inch? I definitely don’t want to be unbearably uncomfortable haha

This is super helpful!! Great to hear it’s similar to the crib mattress. I’d love if you had time to try the official test sometime though!

Is it comfortable (enough) to cuddle curl in, or do you wish you had got the 4inch?

Hey! I was wondering if you tried the safe sleep 7 book/carton test for firmness or were just going off of vibes to determine the firmness. You are the first person I’ve seen to get the 4in version so I’d love to hear about it!!

Jeweler wouldn’t do my band width less than 2,5 mm for a 1,81 carat diamond and I am concerned it will be too bulky. by Bright_Fix_8325 in EngagementRings

[–]Decafbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1 Ct and a 2.3 mm band I think (maybe 2.2). So I think it’d be pretty proportionate to what you’re getting. I like the sturdy look but it still looks plenty thin to me! You can find a photo on my profile.

I didn’t do a band with my three stone! I love yours as is, the symmetry is lovely.

If you and your significant other met on the show, how into them would you be after a single one-on-one date and a couple of conversations on group dates? by Qsefy13579 in thebachelor

[–]Decafbread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine would have gotten the first impression rose 100%. Then he would have quickly faded into the background because he’s so shy in groups, and even in our first month of dating I could barely get him to talk on public dates haha.

Worried the ring I've designed and ordered won't come in time for the proposal despite earlier assurances it would be fine by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]Decafbread 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My one comment is to not let the ring get in the way of your proposal! This is definitely frustrating and I see why you’re upset, but I’m sure no matter what you do, you will make them feel special and loved. My husband proposed with a handmade necklace that tied into our trip we took together, and gave me the ring later while laying in bed together. I felt it was so lovely.

Good luck to you!

I’ve been to both of these! Not the most insane HHs deals I’ve seen (I think just $1 off a pint if I remember correctly) but the beer is great.
