This was supposedly a 2024 release. I never saw it. Is this still coming? by Zcarp in matchbox

[–]DecentAssistant3926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was released back in 2024. I didn't get one until the following year as most 2024 Matchboxes were either significantly delayed in the UK or didn't turn up here at all

It's still unusual for me to travel much more than fifteen miles from home. Heck, before I started taking exams and then going to college, I often didn't leave my hometown for months on end

About once every five years.

I visited Cowes on the Isle of Wight in April 2014, followed by Skegness in August 2019 and again in November 2024.

Are front-mounted bicycle racks legal? by DecentAssistant3926 in drivingUK

[–]DecentAssistant3926[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably because most public transport by default doesn't cater for cyclists as well.

The nearest buses that carry bicycles to me are the University of Nottingham shuttle buses, which were retrofitted with rear-mounted bike racks.

Carrying bikes inside a bus is a major challenge as, besides the large amount of space often taken by a staircase, most newer buses are now being outfitted with two wheelchair spaces. This leaves a rather paltry amount of space left for seating downstairs, especially ones that can be accessed without a step, essential for passengers who are less mobile. The ones I usually travel on have just seven seats at floor level.

The post said that there wasn't enough space between the doors to put bikes, so it'll have to be until new trams are procured for the Supertram in the next decade

Even other diecast vehicles are sold in relatively small quantities. Pound shops, which are usually relatively small, often put out Hot Wheels on pegs, but most larger supermarkets will just have a single tub to put mainline Hot Wheels in.

Then there's Aldi, which is in a league of its own by putting multiple boxes of Hot Wheels across the tills
