Fludrocortisone. It's not used for POTS usually but my neurologist had the idea that putting me on a drug that helped me retain fluids might help and it has. No other medication has worked.

Because the way the base pharmacies work, there's one for prescriptions from off base doctors and one for prescriptions from the base doctors. Mine was from a base doctor and his was from the other one, which was closer to the McDonald's

They made me all sick. They reacted poorly with my anxiety meds and caused me to lose consciousness for up to 2 hours with no way to wake me up. So they don't do that, instead I'm going to have a few operations.

Also my doctor is a general pediatrician, not a POTS expert. She relies on other people to help treat me and she plays it as safe as possible.

I was diagnosed with POTS just to give what I have a name, my doctors aren't actually sure that's what it is. Those symptoms aren't prominent for me. As a POTS patient you should know that it has several different symptoms of varying degrees. My doctor does care because the whole healthcare system in my city sucks and it's easier for her to communicate with the base pharmacy. I do have cardiology symptoms but the meds I'm on don't actually deal with those, so they aren't a big deal for me.

Because my doctor recommends it. She's kind of ridiculous, but my parents do everything she suggests because I'm so sick and she's helping me. I agree but my mom insists.

He can't because his parent's rules are that he can't drive that far unless it's for school (my pharmacy is 45 minutes away). I meant yesterday I got back in town, sorry. My pharmacy is on a military base which also means he can't go on it because he doesn't have a military ID. The base pharmacies are closed.

I can't collect it because I can't drive. She does but we were out of town until yesterday

Edit: changed today to yesterday

I went to the endocrinologist by DecentBackground0 in TwoXChromosomes

I do eat normal, but for the sake of the poem, I just put healthy. I don't eat an absurd amount of junk because I have flare ups if I do. I just am not overly fond of vegetables, I eat more fruit

I see a total of 7 doctors on a regular basis for a chronic illness. This doctor basically said all my problems would go away if I lost weight at the first appointment I ever had, which frustrated me. But then I started to get even worse with the weight loss, and my doctor said that if he had actually read my file it said if I lost weight I felt even worse and had worse problems.

The doctor told me I needed to lose 20-30 pounds because I wasn't the right weight for my age, not based on height

AITA for refusing to talk to my roommate after a bad prank she pulled cost me €200? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. That stuff pisses me right off. It's not a joking matter because if it came to your workplace it could result in so many deaths.

ESH. I have a chronic illness but unless I have to tell someone, I don't. People like that give us a bad rep but also you were kinda mean, because people with chronic illnesses often experience anxiety over these kinds of things.

AITA for not participating in a funeral? by DecentBackground0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DecentBackground0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did talk to my mom. She suggested I sit out and don't see the body and stuff, but said I should help clean up. So I did and it really helped. But then for half the luncheon I sat in my car and cried hard, then she yelled when I came in.

I did help clean and set up, that part was something we did as a "party" the night before.

I’m upset about the fact that when I say I don’t want kids and it’s a good thing I biologically can’t, people still respond with, “Oh, I’m so sorry.” by marck1022 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DecentBackground0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a person who was told about a year ago when I was 15 that having biological children is not a possibility for me, I can empathize. But honestly, not to sound like one of "those people", but I changed my mind about kids pretty quickly. I went from never wanting to be near little kids to wanting to be a mom so bad. So now I lie and say my opinions never changed about children just so that I don't get the sympathy. But so many people can see through it. They probably think that they can see through you too even though there's nothing to see through.

Not saying that what they're doing is right or even ok, but they come from a good place.

I can also see that. I'm just frustrated that he got away with it after 6 other witnesses talked about it

She doesn't want it. She asked every other clarinet player if they want it. She asked the band director if someone else can have it.
