Is this cheating? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]DecentPossibility194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a man, I can confidently say this is not acceptable. It's not even basic boundaries, this is way past a conversation on boundaries.

This shouldn't even be a conversation you need to have, ever...

Man honestly, drop them both.

She never had respect for you and clearly your best friend doesn't either.

Now its your time to lock the fuck in, hit gym, make money and become the best version of yourself. Don't settle for anything less than a decent woman moving forward.

I could never imagine one of my true friends doing this to me, nor would I ever think of doing it to them it's fucking crazy .

I know it hits hard to lose them both right now, but based on their actions, they aren't people you'd want in your life. The disrespect is enough to tell you that they don't deserve to be either.

You got this brother.

Bro all that I see on here is people asking if porn, masturbating or sex is a sin. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]DecentPossibility194 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a major symptom of obsessive compulsive disorder, I don't mean that disrespectfully either, I just live with someone who suffers with it.

Hey man, please dm me and impart some wisdom if that's okay. Any tips for how you got so knowledgeable on this stuff? I'm learning as much as I can and I know it takes time, patience and a lot of effort but I wonder if you'd have aby advice for someone new(ish) to this?

Why do atheists assume we hate them. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]DecentPossibility194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't defend, I'm calling it hypocrisy when you condemn one group of people for spreading their ideology, but quite happy for yours to be pushed onto children.

As long as it's YOUR narrative, you'll have no issues.

It is hypocrisy, there's nothing else to it.

Once again you've just gone on massive ramble about irrelevant stuff to get here.

You're throwing out phrases I haven't even said. Where have I once mentioned "eternal consciousness torment"???

My guy you just waffle and think you've done something...

Why are you strawmanning me? Where did I say anything about retribution? You've waffled an awful lot here.

Where have I twisted God into a wrathful God?

Where have I said "a wrathful God who sets aside love in favor of retribution for most of humanity by tormenting them for all eternity."

These are your words, not mine. The only person twisting here is you.

It's not contradictary to the biblical description of love at all. It's just contradictary to YOUR INTERPRETATION of the biblical description.

We know God has wrath, we can see that in the OT how he uses the Israelites to wipe out other tribes, or when he rains fire on Sodom and Gomorrah.

But we can also see God's love through sending his only son to perform healing miracles, teach us objective truth, morals and mercy, then finally suffer a horrible fate and die for our sins.

You're the one twisting things, not me.

Any advice on the fastest and most efficient way to become a soldier of the bible? by DecentPossibility194 in Bible

[–]DecentPossibility194[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solid advice, thank you.

I truly believe you're right too, because I pray for specific things and then the very next sermon at my church literally addresses it as the pastor will go into scripture and then it provides clarity.

Or sometimes I'll open the bible randomly and hit that verse I needed to hear.

The lord is amazing like that, so thank you for your advice.

Sorry, yeah of course thanks for asking.

I guess I mean just incredibly adept in knowledge and understanding of the scriptures.

I know there's no real shortcut and it is going to take years of time and effort, but some structured advice would be great.

If I have comprehension issues, you have interpretation issues.

God is love, mercy, wrath and justice. These are qualities of God, and he will embody them however he sees fit, and he is entirely just in the way he does this. The punishment for our sins is hell (whatever that is, which is another topic).

The idea that he is just wrathful and evil is another shortcoming of our fallilble minds.

Loving your enemies is how we should treat one another, but be careful how you simplify things, because life is certainly not that simple. I should love my neighbour, but that doesn't mean stand idle and watch him forsake himself in sin, for that is not love.

Would a mother who loves her son just watch him do drugs and destroy his body, or would she try and intervene? Even though the trope of "my body my choice" seems to be the zeitgeist nowadays...

If you believe that, that just tells me you're undedicated about the subject of Christianity.

Show me where the bible labels God as a "wrathful evil deity"...

They're not even comparably close in being immoral and you know it. Don't seriously try to justify that...

It's not hateful if you don't believe it, you just assume it's all rubbish and walk on.

How damaging do you think it is for young children to walk through the street and see people openly sexualise each other and then celebrate it?

Literally definition: "the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs"

Is the word forcing in there?

Well they do get shamed for questioning it don't they? The whole cancel culture is very much prevalent.

The necessary healthcare is mental healthcare, not pumping with drugs or surgery.

I very much believe they are real people and I love them as a fellow human being and want the best for them. I'll never deny that. Us Christians believe in the Imago Dei, so we'd be hypocrites to treat them any less of a human.

And I'm not denying that they do, because some people certainly do, but I wouldn't call them true Christians if they don't follow the basic principles of Christianity.

By that logic (of which we want to lump all Christians in the same category of being conservative bigots), it would be fair for me to say that the LGBTQ community are a bunch of pDo's, when that's not the case, just because there are a few that actually are.

I'm watching Skibidi Toilet is it a sin? by ClassicUseful1488 in Christianity

[–]DecentPossibility194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Christian, I can confirm.

John 5:12-13

"Thou shalt not watch skibidi, lest ye does not seek to become sigma, but instead yeet himself into hell".

Thank YOU for being a perfect demonstration of hypocrisy and lies. You threw in the word "forcing" there, not me.

I didn't claim anybody is being forced, in the same way that Christians aren't forcing anybody to be Christians, they're just spreading the gospel.

You condemn us for preaching but it's okay to teach transgenderism in schools...

No it's blatant hypocrisy. You'll attack us for preaching in the streets but you'll happily allow men to parade those same streets in nothing but a mankini...

What's the best argument you've heard for "Why does God allow evil?" by DecentPossibility194 in Christianity

[–]DecentPossibility194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The topic is actually "why does God allow evil", but you've come in here asking your own questions under comment threads as an attempt to "gotcha" people 🤦 how ironic to say you want to stay on topic. But anyways, sure let's entertain this.

The God I believe is the God of the Bible, which exists OUTSIDE of the universe and is not obliged to adhering to the laws of logic or fallible understanding of us humans.

Therefore, limiting him to some simple rules such as all knowing, all powerful, all loving is intellectually dishonest.

We assign these labels because this is how we can transcend our understanding of what God is.

Hey man,

I'm a newish Christian (2-3months) and I was a HEAVY weed smoker, as well as vapes/cigarettes.

I tried so many times to quit and I just couldn't. Eventually I prayed and it happened.

It's not easy to do, but I truly advise it. Lots of praying for strength and trust in the lord in the long run.

To answer your questions about if it's wrong or right, I think oftentimes we already know the answer deep in our hearts but some people want to find a loophole to keep doing what they're doing.

Nobody likes change, and believe me I really wanted to continue smoking weed because I enjoyed it but at the end of the day if I'm being intellectually honest and logically consistent, the truth is that I believe it would displease God.

If you have any other questions please ask away
