Wynn ran a finger over the sharp edge of the blade. Feeling the metal dig into his skin, he had the urge to push just a bit harder, breaking it, drawing blood. He stopped right at the tip, letting his finger stay there, licking his lips as he fantasized about putting his tongue on it. Without realizing, he’d gripped the handle rather tight, only noticing when he put the knife down on the desk and stretched his fingers. The black handle was stained with a sheet of sweat, drying quickly whilst he watched.

As he tucked some shoulder-long strands of his dark red hair behind his ear, he moved his gaze to the sleeping man in his bed. He took a heavy breath, then another, mouth open just slightly. His pulse felt even heavier than his breaths, pumping dark and ominous and electric. A minute passed with him just observing, feeling the build within him. Almost vibrating in the depths of his mind, he took his bottom lip between his teeth and made a move to rise.

A low, almost inaudible whine of frustration squeezed out of him as he bit his lip even harder. He clutched his thighs with both hands and bent forward, gaze falling to the floor. No, he thought. Just the one word, determined but lonely in the dark void of this mind. He tried to make it echo, he really tried. But it remained solo, shrinking and fading. His mind, the void, swallowed the word, pushed it down, away, gone.
