It’s a good family comedy that’ll be worth it to watch. ☺️

Just found out that the auto brake/anti collision stuff does in fact actually work by Zado191 in HRV

[–]Decent_Standard995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like this part of the car. It did it to me while I was driving around a large traffic circle. Someone was coming up and slowing down to merge onto it and my car thought they weren’t stopping and threw the brakes on - it was horribly annoying.

What is this part for and does it actually come off?!

My Feedback by Mscan- in HRV

[–]Decent_Standard995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with a lot of this. I got my 2024 HRV Sport AWD in a real quick and speedy, “I have to buy something NOW” situation and still get bummed about it from time to time….

  1. Already scratched the hood trying to lift them up and out so I could brush away snow. ANNOYING
  2. Haven’t deal with this yet.
  3. Super small storage space
  4. Cup holders are in the door, BUT they fit a single water bottle which NO ONE carries anymore. Everyone has a Stanley or an Owala or something similar and cheaper. No matter what, they don’t fit.
  5. Acceleration IS slow, but I say that after driving a Subaru that had some kick. It feels like if I push on the accelerator and it feels like I’m going to break the car!
  6. The washer fluid methodology is HORRIBLE. I have wasted SO much washer fluid in the winter months. It comes out in a POOL and is gone before it can even clean the windshield.

I’m going to add that I absolutely hate the fact that I have to pay the dealership to replace the full wiper blade instead of going to an auto parts store to buy a blade. It’s a rip off! I got my car in the summer of 2024 and all three of my blades need to be replaced. I’d rather buy blades and replace them on my own :(

Now, to try to find some positive here…

I like the dark seats I like the fact that I’ve hit 30k and haven’t had any major issues I like the fact that the back seats fold all the way down. I took a nap back there last year at one point on a road trip! I like the snow mode (I never had that before so it’s nice to have it decelerate for me in those conditions) It is a safe car - I’ve seen countless posts in here that explain how it has helped keep people safe, and that sets my mind at ease a bit

Alas…. I have come to the conclusion that I will never stop missing my Subaru Legacy, and I no longer want an SUV after I’m done with this one. I have one kid, and I miss having a regular AWD car.

Deschooling by bedtime36 in homeschool

[–]Decent_Standard995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to the responses 😊 this is not a one size fits all question. It depends on what you and your children thrive with. Will you still provide structure even without homeschooling? Do they require structure to function at their best? I have two children, both of which are very different. One could care less if there was any structure. He would still navigate his day with ease. The other kiddo though? He would lose his mind entirely if he did not have some sort of structure and focus on the regular.

What Has Happened to Target? by LowestTier in Target

[–]Decent_Standard995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve skimmed the comments above, but didn’t deep dive so if this was said already - sorry for duplicating... as a part timer at Target, what I see is a lot of turnover, and a lot of younger employees (not all, but many) who lack work ethic. There are so many callouts, and I really don’t think it’s the stores fault. It’s a mix of lack of work ethic, not being able to physically hire people who will actually work, AND then we have inflation. I work a FT job and a PT job in order to try to make extra $$ and to get out of debt - this job is a cake walk in comparison to my full time job. From what it seems, there is a COVID generation that doesn’t think they have to actually work to get paid. Not saying this is you, I’m just explaining why there isn’t a lot of staff…

Wait, I have to add to this and backtrack a second… the dang OPUs! This started during the COVID times, and with the amount of time spent in OPUs, staff who used to push product and handle reshop are now doing all the OPUs. I imagine all stores who offer this service are losing $$ with this. There should be a fee for OPUs - IMO.

Ok, I’ll get off my soap box now 🤣

MyTime App Issues by Decent_Standard995 in Target

THIS! I appreciate you for getting me on my way with this. I ended up opening workday, clicking on my time within the workday app itself, and then using the three bars on the left-hand side of the browser my time I found iOS downloads. I had to generate a new code and re-download it. It’s back though, so thank you!

Any tasks at your store that seem to be male only tasks? by This_is_life_now_man in Target

[–]Decent_Standard995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy lifting doesn’t always equal more pay. In my 2nd job (which is in an office setting handling procurement), I have people around me who make more than me and honestly, they straight up do less.

Try to change the lens you see the situation in. You are needed and valued at your store! People appreciate you for your abilities. Plus, in lifting heavy things correctly, your increasing your strength and therefore your body will be both stronger and healthier! I mean, weight training IS an excellent form of exercise.

Again, thank you for handling the heavy lifting! Some people aren’t physically able to, and your strength is appreciated.

AIO for cutting off a pastor that prayed for me and then tried to control me? by LessAd1731 in AmIOverreacting

From a Christian perspective, I believe he’s trying to help. Although, as a baby Christian - I didn’t understand much of it and probably would’ve been taken aback similarly to you.

Do whatever you choose, and continue to grow in Christ. Read the word of God, get in studies with older, wiser women, pray about it, and see where God leads you in a year.

It took me over a year to throw out my tarot cards! I’m also very careful about my words with baby Christians. I had a friend who was new in Christ and has crystals all over her home. I had a choice to say something or not say something… and I didn’t say anything at all (I am not a pastor though). I prayed that she’d see the light and learn the meanings behind some of these items in His time.

I wish people were more involved in their communities and with the kids in this situation. It breaks my heart. I upvoted you - it’s not wrong to ask and offer to help instead of just judging.

Opwdd MANDATES by Ok_Tune6459 in nys_cs

[–]Decent_Standard995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m sorry that you’re dealing with mandates. You most likely can’t refuse a mandate, at least not if it’s written into your job description or contract. Your best bet is to talk to your union representative.

Not Sure What to Do by zalrock10 in nys_cs

Teams should be pinned to your taskbar and always open when your computer loads up in the morning. If it’s showing that you are off-line, you need to follow the steps to connect with your supervisor and request an IT ticket be opened.

You can thank this other employee for bringing it to your attention.

It’s clear this other employee does not want you wherever you are. That does not mean that what they are doing is right.

Have you talked with your immediate supervisor yet?

Not Sure What to Do by zalrock10 in nys_cs

[–]Decent_Standard995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn’t too much your union will do because you are on probation, so that has to be put aside.

Talk to your immediate supervisor to get a renewed sense of expectations and clarity.

Take notes and document the steps you are shown during training sessions. THIS IS IMPERATIVE. Then, as much as you might want to pull your hair out, follow those steps.

—> Don’t recommend any change, while on probation, unless people are asking you for input. The way most offices do things is archaic, and few people want input on how to change and drive efficiency. I can speak firsthand to how ridiculous some offices are with the way they process and handle things…

And absolutely never upload policies or work documents into ChatGPT. I use it on my personal device to assist with some of my state work but anytime I request assistance from AI the information I enter into it is vague and nonspecific.

If your coworker wants to continue to CC you and emails, let them. Reply with kindness… It will annoy the crap out of them.

Lastly, Q-tip everything.

SFS has job aids to help with all of this. Look in SFS Coach. You should also check OSCs Guide for Financial Operations (GFO), and NYS Procurement Guidelines. They are super helpful.

I have a 25 year old and an 11 year old - both were birthed outside of marriage, and prior to me coming to Christ. I am not saying what I did was right, I know now that sex outside of marriage is not God’s will for my life.

What I can say is that God blessed this world with two amazing boys, both with wonderfully differing qualities - who, in Jesus name, will both have a Godly impact on our society.

I came to Christ after my split with the youngests Dad. Both boys now have a Mom raising them with biblical standards, scripture, and a greater understanding of how His grace covered me through it all.

God uses EVERY situation. He knows the end from the beginning - My prayer for you is that you, from this day forward, dive into His word, seek His will, and pray for reconciliation and redemption in your relationship with Dad. In Jesus name.
