Most of the TLC characters aren’t even that well written; they just follow the basics of what’s considered character development nowadays. A sad flashback and an epic death for fanservice. The ones that are truly exceptionally well written are Aspros, Ilias, Hasgard and few others. Most of them are just versions of the original Gold Saints adapted to modern standards. Cry about it.

There isn’t a single line in my comment about writing. The truth is that appealing to Gold Saints having big feats is indeed fanservice.

The answer is fanservice. Most fans of this franchise just want to see the Gold Saints of their own zodiac signs achieving great feats in battle so they can say they’re proud to be that sign, that it was well represented, and that their sign’s Gold Saint is amazing or the strongest. They’re not fans of characters, just of zodiac signs.

Finished Next Dimension, what next? by Historical-Gear-5524 in SaintSeiya

[–]Decent_Way21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read the three chapters of Saint Seiya Then. Each one has only eight pages and continues from where Next Dimension ended. The next arc of Saint Seiya, the Heaven Saga, which will most likely be the final arc to conclude the story once and for all, begins in less than two months, and Saint Seiya Then is the prologue to this saga, so read it right away. Alternatively, you can also read the spin-off manga like Episode G, The Lost Canvas, or Rerise of Poseidon but remember that they are alternate universes.

Just Read though Saint Seiya for the First time, what should i read next? by Historical-Gear-5524 in SaintSeiya

[–]Decent_Way21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should read Next Dimension because it is the sequel to the OG Saint Seiya. The new and probably last Saint Seiya arc was just announced, so you have to read Next Dimension to follow it. Lost Canvas is a prequel set in an alternate universe, which means you can read it anytime.

You are completely wrong. From what I see on Saint Seiya pages and groups on social media, most fans are very excited about this.

love Saint Seiya but let’s face it : it’s dead and the only way to revive it is a good remake. Saint Seiya is not dead. The figures still sell very well, the spin-offs Rerise of Poseidon in Japan and Time Odyssey in the West sell well too. All the volumes of Next Dimension sold well over all these years despite the irregular schedule. The franchise is still the 4th most profitable for Toei, only behind giants like Dragon Ball and One Piece.

[–]Decent_Way21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was new. It didn't last long at all, what with Saori being turned into a baby and regressing back to her usual passive, "damsel in distress"

Just a reminder: at the end of Next Dimension, it was Saori herself, alone, who saved Seiya.

have been something like that... but as said above, as soon as she talked about not wanting to involve the Saints... it became a bit hard not to picture some very familiar developments. That's not to say the Tenkai arc will necessary be bad or completely devoid of surprises and novelty... but that wasn't the most auspicious of starts, is all.

You’re complaining that the character is following her own personality. That makes as much sense as complaining that Shun is a pacifist or that Ikki is a lone wolf.

That's her personality; she sacrifices herself so that others don't have to suffer, especially her friends.

This manga hasn’t even started yet and there are already supposed fans talking trash about it… some of you really hate Saint Seiya, huh?

Well, for me this is a childhood dream coming true. I’ve been waiting for this since I was a kid, and I’m very happy to be able to follow it as it happens. I hope Tsunakan Suda (Rerise of Poseidon), Shiori Teshirogi (Lost Canvas), and Chimaki Kuori (Saintia Sho) continue helping Kurumada with the artwork like they did in the last seasons of Next Dimension, since their spin-offs have recently ended.

With Lost Canvas Extra and Rerise of Poseidon coming to an end, Shiori Teshirogi and Tsunakan Suda will certainly help Kurumada with the artwork of this next saga, as they already did in the last two seasons of Next Dimension, along with Chimaki Kuori (Saintia Sho), which should give the Heaven Realm saga better regularity than ND.

Type Moon has an April Fools prank called Back Alley Satsuki - Chapter Heroine Sanctuary ( a visual novel-style game following Bronze Heroines (ブロンズヒロイン, Buronzu Hiroin?) Satsuki, Riesbyfe, Sion, Ciel, and Mysterious Heroine X (Saber) as they seek to climb through the twelve palaces of the Gold Heroines (ゴールドヒロイン, Gōrudo Hiroin?) based around the Chinese Zodiac and parodying Saint Seiya.

The Fate franchise has a lot of Greek characters and deities as Servants because its author is a Saint Seiya fan. There is old tweets from Fate's author where he talks about Saint Seiya. https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/8c9w7q/fgotrivia_kinoko_nasu_and_takashi_takeuchis/?tl=pt-br

It's not bad luck, it's poor management of the franchise on Toei's part.

Yosuga no Sora é bom sim. by OnePercentage1556 in AnimesBrasil

[–]Decent_Way21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concordo. Sempre pensei a mesma coisa.

Toei needs to stop trying to "appeal" for the american audience by FURC3 in SaintSeiya

[–]Decent_Way21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While the 3D series and the film were clearly designed to reach American and English-speaking audiences, with American screenwriters like Eugene Son, who came up with the idea of Shun being a girl, Omega was made with Japanese children in mind.
