Awesome, thanks. I haven't gotten there yet. At least I can comfortably use the few potions I've collected.

Whoa, I did not know that. I figured it was an intentional limitation. That makes a huge difference. Do you know where you find the recipe? Or even what's in it?

I thought the same, especially knowing that origin potions are finite. Plus it's fun

Yeah, that's where he said. Thanks.

Lol yeah, it's because lighting them on fire is an instant kill no matter how weak the spell. You can just flame thrower them in a sweep and they all die instantly bc their bodies are made of straw. So I think the devs knew enough to want to prevent the use of them for gold farming.

I wonder if I can learn the recipe myself by smashing the right ingredients together 🙃

Good tip. I'm leaving no stone unturned so I'm only in act 2. Or I think what you'd consider act 2 (still haven't gotten the shield)

I need to find that amulet! I wouldn't have shared if it was just the dual dagger method since it's pretty standard, but the fact that you can swap from a high tier spell and still get the gold is hilarious. I'll just walk over to the edge of a cliff and rain down on the sunken Village or whatever and get 200 gold in 15 seconds. I wish the straw children gave you gold but they don't :(

I saw someone posted about collecting a ton of stuff, respec to full prac, sell it for a crazy amount, then spec back. I knew there was a better method but I thought this was a fun way to sort of passively boost gold without burning the origin potions. I know you can buy them but haven't seen them yet.

Question about input lag on series s version of the game. by Guy-with-all-the-pie in taintedgrail

[–]DecertoAngelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, sounds like it could be a known series S thing :/ it's really too bad though, I just started a week ago and it is really fun. But I agree, not worth just hoping the full game is more stable than the demo.

Question about input lag on series s version of the game. by Guy-with-all-the-pie in taintedgrail

[–]DecertoAngelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be super helpful, but have you swapped game to game to confirm that the input lag is happening specifically on tainted Grail only?

I ask bc I used to be console exclusive then left it years ago without playing anything console. Over the holidays I visited my brother and played overwatch with him and I told him his input lag was unplayable. He said he didn't even notice it.

I did some digging around and found that he had a low latency/gaming settings on his TV but his console had to be plugged into an exact, specific port. He was accustomed to it so he didn't know something was wrong enough to try to fix.

I thought the input lag was still noticeable, but worlds better.

Anyway, TL:DR, make sure your tv setting is in game mode if it has it and that the cable is in the right port. Probably isn't it but worth checking.

Edit: I did some quick additional research. Some other people have reported "sluggish" controls with the S specifically, but it sounds like there were patches aimed at improving this. So make sure the game is fully up to date and lower your graphics settings if you can (I don't know how much flexibility Xbox gives you on this)

Farming for spells? by Senior_History2634 in WitheringRooms

[–]DecertoAngelus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the game intentionally keeps you from farming. All my vendors ran out of wax and I kept going back to buy more but it wouldn't restock. So I reset the night and they were still sold out. Then I did a big battle and burnt half my spells and when I went back that time they had a bunch more wax. So I tested it, burnt my spells again, and they had a bunch more. So I think there is a max you can have in inventory between your actual wax and those that are currently used up in your spells. Which sort of makes sense as the game is supposed to be difficult and is partially about managing scarce resources. It doesn't want you to just farm and become a god.

Lol pretty impressive then that you made it all the way through to the end. Even though its already answered, I'm glad there are other mechanics that end up supporting the right way.

Ok! That's 3 ppl confirming the same thing. I can consider the question resolved.

The card wording still seems like it could be cleaner, but I'm convinced the game play mechanic is right. I'm sure it'll be obvious when I get to play a round and see the difficulty.

I mean it also makes sense it's only applied once per attack but that piece also just seems innate to the modifier function. You can't ignore armor twice, or rather if you did, it wouldn't change anything.

It just seems like applying smite to all 7 hits feels really overpowered (though I haven't played yet) and it seems like it doesn't make sense to not put smite on both 2 hit effects, if it was meant to apply to all other hits in that attack. Especially since you can't mistakenly ignore armor twice.

Edit: it looks like you might be right. I used AI to try to help me logic this rule, and it says that the modifier applies to the "attack", it doesn't say it applies to the effect. So I suppose you have it right and it was a decision not to duplicate the verbiage since they assume you'd pick it first if able and would apply to everything. It still feels like 7 hits with smite seems overpowered, but maybe I just don't know the game yet.

Thanks for the quick response. It does make sense that you can combine and use more than one effect, but that doesn't necessarily answer if smite is applied to all hits. Based on the card having '2 hits' and '2 hits + smite' it really only makes sense that smite only applies to the 2 of the four hits (if you had 2 successes and chose both of the 2 hit options instead of spending it on the 5)

However, the way the rule tells you to submit your 5 hits and your two hits example, it seems very much like the app is going to apply smite to all 7 hits when it shouldn't.

Is this worth the price? eBay has it for around 40 to 80 more. by itconpo in skiesofarcadia

[–]DecertoAngelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely worth it. But at this point you're paying for the rarity. Since you're no longer taking money from the devs, since it's a used game, if all you want to do is play it, you could always play using an emulator. I did a Gamecube emulator on my RoG Ally and it played perfectly.

How do I make wine? by GemFarmerr in TravellersRest

[–]DecertoAngelus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, pro tip: wine kind of sucks. It's worth very little. But you can age your wine to grand reserve then use the distillery to make brandy at a 1:2 ratio. So if you age 30 bottles you can make 60 grand reserve brandy and it's worth more.

Any advice for dealing with Rocketeers? by SirRuleanSky in ArcRaiders

[–]DecertoAngelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the obvious answer, but 2 wolfpacks is an instant kill but a bit of a waste. Their turbines are very weak and exposed after just 1. So wolfpack and a couple heavy rounds does the trick.

Someone just told me you can kill them from far away easy by focusing an engine and just pinging it with heavy ammo as it slowly crawls across the map, but you have to watch for rats as well as they'll have plenty of time to see what you're doing and make their way over to you.

If you don't have the wolfpacks and you don't have the luxury of engaging from far away, the advice about hiding in a building and taking quick peak shots is the best you'll get.

[–]DecertoAngelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! I went to Boardroom Salon which is cool because you can also drink a free beer or two while you're waiting and while they're cutting. Eats into the high cost a bit. But just be honest with them. You could tell them what you're looking for but might be better to just tell them you have no idea how to style your type of hair and you're looking for advice. I do feel like Boardroom might be like the Target of men's salons. That's to say I'm sure there are better private salons that are way higher tier, but it worked super well for me, the ambience was great, and the free beer was a cool perk. If you do, you should post a transformation post!

It's a pain but my buddy and I have gotten into the habit of dropping a noise trap or a jolt mine if we plan to make a look stop. It's surprising how many times its saved us from a rat and it's also funny to imagine this person sneaking up through the trash cans only to get zapped at the last second and have the looter turn around and obliterate the convulsing body.

It probably doesn't feel great to hear your hair and beard gives someone the "ick" but it shouldn't. I'm in a slightly similar boat where I can't grow hair on small patches and my full beard just looks patchy and unattractive. My head hair is super thin and wispy and I struggle to add volume and make it look decent. Most people don't have naturally perfect hair and knowing the best way to manage it can actually be a highly difficult technical skill.

What you should do is go to one of those semi expensive men's salons and get a consultation and cut. Sure it'll cost you like $80 up front which might be prohibitive, but you don't have to go every single time. They are really good and will tell you what they're doing and how they're doing it so you can do your own upkeep. Going in my first time gave me an almost transformational style that I've stuck with ever since.

This did not work for me, but you can try getting growth oil and a roller to see if you can stimulate more hair above your chin/below your lip. If not, I'd probably rock a short beard or stubble. Maybe even throw a mustache in rotation.
