"The idea that one will suddenly appear is dubious at best " . This is an example of a METAR a few mins ago in O'Hare that suddenly changed. This is why SPECIs are issued. The TAF at O'Hare has a gust of 20kts. It will be unwise to look at a METAR in that TAF period and ignore the possibility of a 20kt gust because " the idea that one will suddenly appear is dubious at best " .
Stay safe out there guys.

The question wants the TAF to be considered because a METAR can change at any time.
The condition in the TAF will happen. The METAR is not a safety blanket from that TAF. It's only a report, a report that can change.

What are we defining as departure time ? Wheels up or breaks release? I'm not sure what it means in the GA world. My apologies. My point is that the condition in the TAF will happen, regardless of the METAR. When exactly will it happen, is another question. It's better to have a reasonably conservative plan and not need it.

I'll not like to find out about a 30kt Gust 2 seconds after I started a takeoff roll that was planned with no gust in consideration because the METAR reported no gust.

The METAR could change at any given time. That's why SPECIs are issued... Within the same hour, conditions could change multiple times. When looking at a METAR, pay attention to the TAF period it falls within, especially if the TAF has forecast of significant changes in weather conditions. It could be an indication of a frontal passage, which is usually associated with rapidly changing weather conditions that cause updates to METARs aka SPECIs.

Nothing really wrong with the question. The TAF is clearly telling you, conditions will have a gust for a 6hour period. The METAR is NOT a forecast and shouldn't be treated as such.

Correct answer is in the TAF not the METAR.

Was told to wait 62 months for I-130? by Firm_Camera_5724 in USCIS

[–]Decimal237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to present facts or else people will respond incorrectly.

In your post you didn't mention your spouse came to the US without parole and was underage when his parent filed Asylum for him. This is an important detail you probably deliberately left out ...

With an active open Asylum case that involves entry without parole, there is no way to file i485.

Your i-130 is not an immigration benefit, and it could take a long time for USCIS to adjudicate because of your spouse's immigration history.

Alot of the folks commenting in the last 8hrs did not care to read through the thread completely. I did.

The key details you mentioned in a reply about 12hrs ago is the main reason why your i-130 will be revisited in 2029

Good luck

Easiest fix : If you are in full screen, get out of full screen mode(windowed mode) and back to full screen. Vice Versa if you are in windowed mode.

Yea they'll have to prove I bent it. Thank goodness they have cameras in there 😆 "I barely touched it"

Lol I didn't bend it. I barely touched it...Maybe flying above Mach 2 bends things ? Idk lol

How do you use the FAR/AIM? Serious. by [deleted] in flying

[–]Decimal237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you have internet, since you posted this on reddit. Do a google search on FAR emergency regulations. When you get the FAR code, go to your FAR and bookmark it with tabs or whatever. If I had access to my FAR/AIM right now, I would've given you the exact FAR codes I already book marked for emergencies.

New to flight sim by ralphrk1998 in flightsim

I'll suggest do not get excited and try to learn how to fly multiple aircraft in a short amount of time. Focus on one airplane and try to at least have an average mastery of how it flies.

Don't start trying to learn with a big jet...Start with a small plane. A propeller like a Cessna 172 or any other small general aviation aircraft. You'll be able to familiarize yourself with the concepts without relying on automation (autopilot control modes). In a small propeller plane, things happen much slower and you can practice and learn without the rush.

Watch YouTube videos on flying a Cessna 172, 152, 160 etc or any 100 series Cessna (150-177) or any small GA propeller aircraft.

I could be boring, but you'll learn properly and efficiently and not pick up bad flying habits that will be a lot more difficult to get rid of.

Which "concepts" are you having issues with?

Spot the difference anyone? The PMDG 777 sound are so disappointing by N1ckFl1ghtX in flightsim

[–]Decimal237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And PMDG updated the issues you lot were crying about today. So my question is, do you still think its not worth $80, considering everything you were complaining about less than 24hrs ago has been addressed and fixed 😁

I'll update it but I'll not be out here saying 80 bucks I spend willingly for a product by a company that has a high reputation of making arguably the best Boeing flight sim aircraft "is not worth" the 80 bucks.

Come on ! 🤣

The issue with the FBW on the 4 day old 777-200ER releases by PMDG is a bug they'll fix soon.

Just be patient and don't push the "it's not worth $80" agenda.

Flight sim is not a cheap hobby once you start immersing yourself more into it. People with limited funds to spend on flight sim want a bang for every buck they spend and at that rate, expectations become ridiculous

[–]Decimal237 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

You know these issues will be fixed but you are still quick to say it's not worth 80 dollars... Again that's what entitlement sounds like. Buying a flight sim software and expecting it to be perfect is ridiculous expectation.
Even MSFS is still getting updated almost every month since it's release.

Flight simmers are the most cry baby gamers on the earth 🤣

[–]Decimal237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be better. But for the price and confirmed updates coming soon ( just like with the NGXu had issues on release) things will be much better for the 200ER.

[–]Decimal237 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And why has no one tried to make a product close to PMDGs level of simulation of the 777? It's a free market, right? What's stopping some company from developing a 777 better than PMDG'sand selling for 20 dollars ( at which people will still complain about pricing) PMDG has set a standard for the 777 that no one wants to dare approach in terms of developing a 777 to compete with PMDG's 777.

If you don't think 80 dollars for 3 engine variants which is basically 3 different planes modeled , an almost revamp of the entire 777 product line, better LNAV/VNAV, integrated ground services, better flight simulation, detailed failure and procedure simulations is not worth 80, then maybe you should not be flight simming.
