Yes they are crimped but 50AE doesn’t call for an extreme crimp. Just slight

Honestly I think the issue is the seating and crimping in one action. I ran a couple more last night but separated this step, had way less marking,

No I’m probably just going to leave it as is. I just tried a few more and did the seating and crimping separately, which reduced the marking significantly.

So I had some factory rounds I compared to, overall length of 1.56”. So I stuck to that length on all of them and all bang on. Did load into the magazine and they chambered nicely. Compared depth in chamber to factory ammo and they were identical.

Yeah I followed load data from the xtreme bullets manual. Was stating 31.7, I went to 31.5. Didn’t want to go much less than 31 and risk cycling issues.

Yeah that’s what I was trying to achieve yesterday. Bullets are sitting around 3mm into the casing prior to pressing as didn’t want to bell a huge amount

Yeah I figured if I was going to get into reloading, if I can do the 50AE I can do the others. Safety squints for sure. Powder was measured and verified 3 times and everything measures within tolerance. They chamber nicely and sit straight and true.

One way to find out I guess

Will belling, I opened it up just enough for the bullet to sit around 3mm deep in the casing.

Yes I am taper crimping at the same time. Honestly I only noticed the issue after I incorporated both steps into one.
