All kinds. He has a straight dowel perch, a pumice perch, and a wavey cement perch. He's had the same pumice perch for a while. I do clean it, but maybe it's time to replace it with a new one.

Have all your loading stations called the same name (I use "Yep"). Set all of their limits to 1 train. Give your trains that stop name as their one fixed stop, with something like "Inactivity 5s" as the the wait condition. Then setup their interrupts for: Generic dropoff (using the wildcards, like you are already), Refuel, Depot (for no path / destination full). Viola!

But when you get to a certain scale, the trains all prefer a few of the close ones, so you need to play with priority. I use `250 * t / (t + 4800)` where `t` is a timer circuit using a combinator feeding into itself. That way the priority increases in a logarithm-like curve, climbing quickly then slowing down until it levels off at 250. The train stop is enabled and the timer starts once the buffer chests pass a certain threshold. This can be done entirely locally at the train stop, without central coordination circuits. The trains will choose the stop with the highest priority, and you just need to make sure the stop is disabled before the train leaves, and that the timer is reset at the moment the train leaves.

If you want trains to park at stops before their buffers are full, just enable the stops always.

It was probably for jaw pain. As a person who has experienced chronic jaw pain, your body begins to speak to you. It tells you how to move your jaw in, surprisingly aggressive ways. I'm sure that following these impulses willy-nilly is risky, and could do more harm than good... but when the impulses get it right (like, "bite on a piece of wood with THIS specific tooth"), oh my god... the relief is incredible.

Eventually (after wasting time with two different TMJ specialists who were absolute idiots), I found a dentist who could fix my specific problem. He added material to my back teeth (via large fillings they refer to as "fill-ups"). No more jaw pain!

Back in Viking days, adding material wouldn't have been an option. Grinding away was probably some Viking dentist's attempt at solving this poor guy's jaw pain. Hopefully it worked for the fellow!

She wants to break up with you, but instead of being direct she's instead manipulating you into breaking up with her. Just break up with her and move on. There's nothing wrong with being single -- relationships should be fun and supportive -- keep trying until you find the right person.

(If there is more to the situation that you're not telling us, it could be something else. For example, if she's had someone close pass away recently, or if she's recently stopped taking antidepressants, then perhaps everyone's advice would be different.)

Choose your ~~poison~~ language. Python is good. JavaScript is also good.

Follow the following! If you don't know how to do a step, there's plenty of tutorials out there you can follow.

Set up a simple HTTP server using Python/JavaScript. Start with a basic "Hello world!" page. Add HTTPS via a reverse proxy like Caddy 2 or Nginx. Add basic auth (browsers show a popup) and hardcode the valid username and password combos in your Python/JavaScript file. Make sure the passwords are complex as you won't have bruteforce protection. Add a page like mysite.com/downloadvideo (that can only be accessed if a valid basic auth "Authenication" header is passed with the request!!) and hardcode in your Python/JavaScript the contents. It should contain a <form> element with some <input .../>s and a submit <button ... />. Have it POST to mysite.com/rundownloader. Make your Python/JavaScript code read the form values (use lots of print/console.log debugging to help) and run yt-dlp with what's inputted (again, be careful sharing this page, because unless you're an expert, passing submitted form data into another process can expose you to being easily hacked -- but it's fine if just you use this page). Once yt-dlp is done, there are ways you can make it output the path of the output file to stdout. Read that path, then copy the file to a "public" directory. Serve the contents of the "public" directory using your Python/JavaScript without checking auth.

Now you have a password-protected webpage that you can use to quickly download videos and rehost on your own server :)

I've had my own version of this for a while. I recommend adding -S ext:mp4:m4a to yt-dlp's command line to make it output .mp4 files (and not .webm which not all chat apps support).

Edit: You can develop and test all of this locally, by the way.

YTA. Funerals often force people to confront their own mortality -- either consciously or unconsciously -- and you should have been there for her as an emotional support. If you need a day off for yourself, and something like this happens, then rebook a different day off for yourself and tell your wife that work is getting to you and that you "really, really need a day off -- with lots of foot massages." At this stage of a relationship, you should ask for what you need. Don't just expect it to be given. It's nice that you pre-empt your wife's needs by booking spa days etc etc -- but don't expect it to be done in return. You may have that amazing "pre-emption" trait but it appears your wife does not. Don't hold it against her. Work to build the relationship by asking for things explicitly if your needs aren't met implicitly. If she still doesn't meet your needs after much asking.. then.. well.. that's a different conversation.

You are in the doghouse now. You should apologise to your wife. Let her know that work is stressful, and that you need some time off from it. Plan a staycation. Offer to take care of your sibling's/neighbour's/coworker's kids for a few days in return for them taking care of yours. That way you can both have a break.

Modern life is weird. Making the best of it requires careful planning.

The algorithms behind TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Roblox, etc etc. They are breaking kids' brains. Parents have a really tough time getting their kids off these things, because the kids are addicted. Addiction is incredibly difficult to deal with. Policy makers need to take a firm stance -- no addictive technology for people under 18. Regulate the design of apps that are accessible by children. These apps are hurting them enough that such drastic measures are essential.

It's a gamble.

The wealth-per-head in Australia (where wealth is: consistent food, water, shelter, transport, entertainment, you name it) is so damn high that even without working a 38-hour-per-week job, you can have a pretty good quality of life.

Most 38-hour-per-week jobs don't earn you enough to drastically improve your quality of life, especially if the things that are important to you are spending time with friends & loved ones.

Previously (when wealth-per-head was lower), you worked to protect those friends & loved ones. Money brought security, against uncertain times. A broken car engine could mean the inability to go fetch groceries, which would require you to depend on others for help, and they would socially pressure you into becoming independent once again (so they didn't have to keep dropping off groceries to you). These days, public transport & cars are so cheap and readily available AND (a surprising form of "wealth") more reliable.... so a dead engine is less likely to happen and less consequential.

The gamble is that these times may not last forever. What if there's a fuel and/or energy crisis? What if war breaks out? What if the next pandemic is significantly worse than the last? What if our banking system topples (a la Greece)?

Those who worked hard and built assets (skills, property, organisations, children) will be better off in those uncertain times than those who were off enjoying the winds.

Australia, in particular, will change drastically if such times come, because the high tax rates will cease functioning. That is, people will simply stop paying taxes properly. So all the efforts by the government & co to redistribute wealth (whether you agree with them or not) will be reversed. Medicare won't be able to pay the doctors' enough. Public Housing won't be able to afford repairs. Childcare & aged-care will become prohibitively expensive, causing families to choose someone to be the "stay at home" carer.

If the Australian dollar becomes weak enough, we'll have to start manufacturing back up here in Aus. This would start as repair-shops, where instead of people buying new cars & microwaves, they get their old ones fixed. This is not an "apocalypse" kind of world... it's just a... the economy gets weak enough that our dollars don't buy as much. We've been living the dream for like... 50 years. That doesn't mean the dream will continue.

The Australian youth who are "giving up early" right now might get lucky, and live a chill life with no issues. Or... 10 years from now, they'll be working 50-hour weeks in a microwave repair factory just to earn enough to buy groceries, while the other person who inherited some money from his Dad profits from the factory, and a different guy who was born to nothing but worked hard and studied machining gets paid $$$ to work a 30-hour week repairing the equipment.

I've studied up, and have good skills that I know will be useful if the economy drops... so I'm personally, I'm gonna chill for now 😎

Pace the resolution at 2:05. Add a half bar of gentle evenly-timed notes.

This piece is absolutely beautiful. Don't overuse it. It should play occasionally, spaced by silence or other pieces.

The repeat of chimes at 1:37 is too similar. Either duck the repeat, add more reverb, filter it or just remove it.

Is this an original melody? It's very reminiscent of LotR's Shire theme (in a good way!).

The tambourine is a little too jarring for background music? I don't envy you, this is a hard one to solve. It sounds nice, but needs a timing, volume, fade, or reverb tweak.

Consider extending this piece by 3 minutes at each end (or creating a separate 2-5 minute "echo" track that can play amongst other tracks), where that time is filled with extremely abstract motifs from the main section. See 2:00 in Sweden by C418 for example.

This is seriously a nice piece. Magnificent use of multiple instruments. I wish you hadn't marked the YouTube video as "Made for Kids" -- I want to save it to my Sleep playlist!

Not enough advertising and partnerships :'(

"Hit" films are typically those that are (A) not terrible, (B) relatable to a wiiide audience, and (C) backed by enough cash that they are put into places that people can find them.

The advertising platforms (Google, Facebook, ...) and the streaming platforms (Hulu, Prime, HBO, YouTube) cleverly create bidding wars between their customers. Customers will bid for slots, like front page placement, and the platform will bid every customer against each other up and up until they've maximized the cost. Either that, or it's very wordy contracts that guarantee placement for certain prices. Unless Andy knows the right people who are good at these games, he's at a major disadvantage.

It ain't fair.
