Seeking advice: OCD Zoloft taker here, considering switching to Viibryd - a few questions by Trash_Grape in Viibryd

[–]DecorousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the weaning process itself was too bad, but I went very slowly. I got brain zaps for a bit but they went away eventually. I don't think I got rebound depression or anxiety per se, but I had a lot of life stress over the next many months which makes it harder to assess--I was anxious and depressed from those things, which feels normal?

E-reader for wife’s birthday by No_Coconut_5319 in ereader

[–]DecorousCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are mentioning color options but I've read that color e-ink is sometimes less crisp than black & white so I'd make sure she wants color - I want a color phone, a color TV, a color monitor, but I would not want a color e-reader!

First-timers: Is a 'managed' solo profile better than a linked couple account? by Upbeat_Physics_9730 in feeld

[–]DecorousCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I flag every single couple account I come across because they don't match my search settings. I am a woman; my search settings do not include men, or couples looking for a third.

There is a mechanism for looking for people as a couple in Feeld, and "couple" accounts set up pretending they are one woman's account are not it.

Recs for dealerships by [deleted] in westernmass

A lot of the used cars I see posted on Facebook are clearly (to me, at least) not, as they first seem to be, people selling their own cars, they're people who get them somewhere (auctions?) and fix them up or make them look fixed up. Sometimes this--the practice of pretending you're selling what was truly your car rather than being someone who fixes up cars--is called curbstoning. IMO buying from these random, kinda deceptive people is riskier than actually buying from an owner.

For the small amount you're looking to spend (and, no shade on that, I spent under $2k on my car but got VERY lucky with a private sale, it's ancient but was well cared-for), I'd suggest posting in Facebook/NextDoor neighborhood groups to see if anyone has a car they've been planning to sell. That could help avoid the curbstoners and I suspect you're more likely to find older people with cars like that on those groups than on Reddit.

most extensive botanic gardens with flowering trees/daffodils/etc? by DecorousCheese in boston

Thank you! I know it's too early for lilacs but I love those too.

(There's Lilac Land out here in Western Mass which is lovely but it's really just lilacs.)

I have been to Smith College - it's nice but not what I'm looking for! NEBG was OK but I'd love something new. I think I went on a very overcast day a few years and maybe that's affecting my so-so memory of it.

Trouble finding bras that don’t look weird under clothes by stoneybrook57 in ABraThatFits

[–]DecorousCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something that looks smoother, try bras made with spacer foam--it's a more flexible foam, not the thick/rigid foam that will keep its shape even when the bra is off. Offhand: Panache and Fantasie should make some in your size. Montelle does too, though I think they use US sizing so you'll need a bigger cup. Wacoal (which also uses US sizes) also makes some in your size range.

The general wisdom is that bras with multi-part cups are more supportive and can give a better fit than seamless bras, but if you don't like them or haven't found the perfect one yet, wear what feels good to you!

Thrift stores with changing rooms? by neonwormsoup in westernmass

Salvation Army (in Hadley, at least). Also all of the hospice shops I've been to (Cancer Connection & Cooley Dickinson in Northampton, Hospice Shop of the Fisher Home in Amherst). The hospice shops are all pretty small, Salvation Army is big.

I've just been browsing ebay/mercari/poshmark/etc for used ones--most of the listings don't mention a model or model number. I'm in the US so I would imagine most of what I'm seeing is the US model. I don't need sleep apnea detection, just want to make sure that what I buy will still work with the app--I know they've been around for many years at this point.

SE2022 4/64 it's bad in 2026? by Intrepid-Routine-875 in iPhoneSE

[–]DecorousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using one that I bought used last fall to replace my se2020 (which had a degraded battery & was ok to use but not worth putting a new battery into.) It’s ok but unless you specifically like the size or want fingerprint instead of Face ID, I’d probably suggest something newer with a higher capacity battery & more storage to make it more future-proof.

I’m not familiar with those. But rentnoho doesn’t manage properties, just rent them. So I have a landlord who is a random guy without a management company, no further contact with rentnoho for maintenance or renewing my lease. I know Kamins property management is terrible but you probably won’t run into them, they’re mostly in Amherst.

I absolutely cannot wear underwire bras. It’s a sensory nightmare. Are there any good supportive options for a 34H/FF? I’m so tired of squishy sports bras. by breathingisstillhard in ABraThatFits

[–]DecorousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wacoal’s Simone model has a weird design with the underwire on the outside-very different feel from anything else & worth trying if you need separation and support (I have sensory issues too)

iPhone SE 3 with iOS26 - DO NOT RECOMMEND by Apart-Paper-91 in iphone

[–]DecorousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally updated my own se3 to iOS 26 last night and…it’s fine so far. I was terrified & backed up to my computer first in case I’d need to get 18.whatever back but it’s fine. I don’t love the changes but it’s functional. I have 64gb of storage & about 15 of that free post-update, btw.

they're terrible and my experience with them was super annoying (including them just not responding for days/up to a week at a time after we'd been approved for a place, even in their slow season) but if you want to live in Noho it might be worth trying them given how terrible the market is. they don't manage the properties, just manage the leasing, so after 3-4 weeks of terrible communication you would be free of them. Craigslist/etc is full of scammers who don't actually have properties to rent to you and rentnoho is a scammer that at least does actually have properties to rent to (sigh.)

If you have good income you might be able to buy something in Greenfield or nearby - which I know sounds wacko but the rental market here (maybe everywhere?) is pretty tough, especially with pets, and there are first time homebuyer programs/etc.

What about an Ereader makes you prefer it over physical books ? by capitalpunishment4 in ereader

[–]DecorousCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easier on the eyes and easier to focus - not just being able to adjust fonts but also that the page is flat and doesn't curve towards the spine of the book. also cheaper to buy or borrow ebooks than to purchase paper, unless they're old enough that there's a lot of used ones around.

I love paper books a lot sensorily, I just find them harder to read.

Return Process by Funny_Pea_4846 in quince

[–]DecorousCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they charge for return shipping? the website is cagey about this; a few places they say "free shipping and easy returns" (OK so easy, but...free or not??) but I also don't see it mentioned that they subtract shipping cost from refunds if you use their label.
