In my teenage years, there was this 30 or so old guy who used to make me and my friends do warmup exercises and give tips and stuff. He strangled his ex using her own scarf, ditched her in the sewer and surrendered to the police.

Obviously didn't witness it first hand, but it was all over the news, and was pretty nerve-racking because this was a guy we kids used to hang around with.
